This is a nice hotel, with attentive staff. However, the rooms are fairly small, (european style). There are some amazing views to be had from the hotel, and you come out of the hotel looking out at the Danube. In the rear, you have a great view of the castle, which is also wonderful. It is well located, the rooms...

Was very impressed by the Lanchid Design Hotel, staff were very helpful and the hotel was beautiful. Great location and great views! Attached is the view of the Danube River from my room. The amenities in the room were also very good, dressing gowns and umbrellas provided which I thought was a nice touch.

I thought we’d upgraded choosing this hotel and were in for a luxurious stay...? On arrival we were greeted by a pleasant receptionist who handed us our key and directed us to our room. On opening the door our hearts sank at the sight of no view and the most basic room of basic rooms going. I swiftly returned to...

This is a Starwood designer hotel, and it does have a unique compact design, that is efficient and clean. The bed was lower to the ground than we liked. The room is quite small along with the bathroom shower that is also compact. It is clean and great basic room. Because the hotel had friendly staff, and was so really...

I am in this hotel at the time of writing this review and here are my thoughts 1) Great Location - Situated on the river bank and great views. The tram station and metro station are also close by 2) Amenities - I read somewhere that it is a 4 star hotel. I have my doubts. There is no gym....

Helpful staff who seem to speak every language going! The room was great with an amazing view of the chain bridge. Convenient to get to most places and a tram stop right outside. The mattress was a little too firm for my liking but that's always better than too soft. Really nice food too - had breakfast and room service...

This hotel joined recently the Starwood-group. It's a fairly small one, located by the river Donau below the Buda Castle. The lively east side is easily accessible via the lovely Széchenyi Chain Bridge. The hotel style has a design-label but feels a bit outdated. The pillows could be improved a bit. No gym is available.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at this fantastic hotel for two nights as a birthday celebration. The hotel is in an excellent location and our room had a beautiful view of the Danube. The bed is enormous and I had a very good nights sleep both nights. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and really helped made it a...

Friendly staff, clean, quiet back room overlooking the castle, great location. Walk across the Chain bridge to great restaurants, walking distance to the castle and walk along the Danube, great rates with wonderful breakfast.

Dear Aileen, we are happy to read you had a great time in Budapest and in our hotel. All major attractions of the city and the party districts are within easy walking distance of our hotel though it is situated on the quiet Buda side. We are especially glad you liked our breakfast as we use high-quality ingredients and regularly...

The hotel does not have the minimum standards to belong to design hotels. The staff just dont care about the guests. This hotel was the big mistake in my family holidays. The breakfast is just terrible! Dirty breakfast room and lasy staff.

Dear Diogo, thank you for your feedback concerning our hotel. We apologize for the inconveniences you had to face. Unfortunately sometimes we have to hire temporary external staff, especially when we have high occupancy for a long period of time. This was the case when you were staying at our hotel. Our permanent staff are highly professional and hard-working people...

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
