Don't bother- nothing special - stay in town House is set in the middle of a farming area - surrounded by a large but unmanaged garden - about 3 Kms out of town with an address that the satnav can't find! Service - to actually get a booking took an effort as the owners don't monitor their email and the...

The gardens and old house are really beautiful and it's a quiet, relaxing place to stay. Breakfast is ample and tasty. While we were there the owners themselves were not and the hostess, although kind and helpful, spoke next to no English (and us very little Latvian), which led to some confusions at times. Still, not enough to overshadow a...

I found Sauleskalni through Trip Advisor and wasn't at all disappointed--it was like staying in a botanical garden. Such large, lovely grounds and really charming, comfortable rooms. Absolutely one of the nicest places we visited in Latvia. The gardens are worth a visit even without staying, and we did in fact meet a group of Latvians who were touring notable...

The place is full of special charm :) It has so many stories (bad and good) to tell to those who know how to listen...We (family of three) enjoyed so much our several days in Kuldiga's best kept secret! Stunning and very much loved and cared for gardens were being restored to its old glory. The gardens were established by...

Clean spacious rooms and a decent breakfast. You need a car or a bike. Not for city people, but rather for nature lovers. Only minus: at the time of our visit there was no internet access.

What a location - A gorgeous lake side guest house beside a stunning lake. The house garden is also beautiful and lovingly kept. Rita (the owner) was actually away when we arrived and had arranged for a neighbour to call her as soon as we arrived. Even on the phone she made us feel welcome with a very friendly manner...

After four days in busy Riga, it was a pleasure to arrive at this lovely guest house near the village of Kuldiga. Our VIP bedroom was large and well heated by a wood burning stove. As we were the only guests, we had the whole house to ourself, which was a plus. The cozy living room is complete with a...
