We chose this hotel to sleep after our wedding party. As we are from Ponte de Lima, we wanted to keep the tradition and spend the night of nuptials in a perfect place before our honeymoon. A contemponarany building and a fine mixed art & modern collectables. Upon arrival we were greeted at the car park by Mariana who welcomed...

We saw the ad on SLH and took a flyer for our first trip to Portugal. It was a birthday escape with my wife. We couldn't have been happier. Absolutely delightful hospitality! Superb food. Terrific wine. Great spa. Beautiful grounds. Wonderful, unique style. Nancy, André, the owner, all left us with great, warm memories. Do the wine tasting.

I've travelled extensively & stayed at a lot of lovely boutique hotels, Carmos is truly a gem. It is much more modern (art deco with a touch of vintage) than the website displays. The entire building is a concrete structure filled with fine art & collectables. It's absolutely beautiful, warm, cozy & inviting. Vintage vignettes mingle nicely with modern/ cosmopolitan...

This hotel is a unique experience. Details is the correct word. From the moment you arrive, you will be received, on the car park by someone, with a smile on the face. Forget your bags, they will be put on the room, and embark on the experience. You are received on breakfast/dinning room, which incudes either a very pleasant outside...

We were attracted to book this hotel by its membership of Small Luxury Hotels group and ratings but we find it hard to come to a conclusion! It is such a mixture so this review is longer then usual to try to give a full picture. Set just off a main road, the place is hard to find as there...

We had a lovely two nights here and the service from the staff was great. Our room was just perfect with a really comfortable bed and interesting art works. The bathroom was large and inviting with every amenity you could ask for. The location is lovely in the hills and the outdoor areas and spa had a real luxurious feel...

We found Carmo's boutique hotel on the Internet and we took a chance and booked it for our last few days in northern Portugal. When we arrived, we were given a warm friendly welcome and were shown into the most marvelous room. The entire hotel was decorated dramatically, there were things everywhere to catch one's eye. The owners obviously have...

We stayed at this hotel as part of our supper trip through northern Spain and Portugal. I have stayed in many 5* hotels, but this one exceeded all expectations. Exquisitely decorated, attention to detail, excellent facilities and dining experience and a wine selection to match. The staff were extremely professional but friendly and showed that they genuinely cared for your...

This very unique a hotel in the north of Portugal is a hotel we will never forget. The building of the hotel is quite modern, which you don't see that often in Portugal. But... in a positive sense: the architecture is very nice! Outside there is beautiful swimming pool with nice sunbeds. And they also have their own restaurant (for...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Carmo’s is a cosy, romantic and exclusive 15 rooms luxury Boutique Hotel at the Portuguese countryside. Situated at Ponte de Lima, the oldest town in Portugal, at the Heart of Porto and Minho Region, close to amazing cities like Porto, Braga, Guimarães, Viana do Castelo and Santiago de Compostela (Spain). Modern design from the Portuguese awarded Architect Carvalho Araújo. Very informal. The concrete chosen by the architect becomes affectionately involved in a dialogue between parts of Portuguese joinery in Pau-Santo, Ivory, Rosewood (Art-Déco and Indo-Portuguese Art) and ancient church pieces. Everywhere heaps of nostalgic bags from the '60s, tv sets, picture frames without paintings and modern paintings (Portuguese and International painters) casually on the floor beside the canopy bed. Sculptures may appear where you may less expect and most of them are from the Portuguese Dulce Moniz. Portuguese Silver pieces and Lalique crystals are also part of this interior design history. In a scenario of organized disorganization a restaurant, library and reception, in which every detail has been carefully designed! A book and a bottle of wine appeals to our senses. The Rooms are all different from each other. Linen Canopy beds with the finest cotton bed sheets with English embroidery. The beds it self are in Wild Silk, Satin, Velvet, Leather or Noble woods, all made by Portuguese artisans. Romantic, bright and delicately decorated creating an exclusive and refined luxurious atmosphere.A luxury private Aromatherapy Spa where the essential oils and 100% organic herbs are used with love and care and an exclusive Bath in 100% Pure Goat’s Milk in honor of Queen Cleopatra, who soon discovered the secret of rejuvenation. The night falls… the fire and a blanket wind up this romantic and surreal scenery at Ponte de Lima. A true Boutique Hotel Dali style as called by Arjan Mulder.Carmo’s… a place where the past, the modern and the cultural roots blend and coexist harmoniously. The Hotel distinguishes itself on tradition, history, exquisitely and respect for the environment.Carmo’s Programs:- Romantic- Honeymoon- Wellbeing and Rejuvenating (Divine Aromatherapy Spa)- Horseback riding experiences- Cultural, Wine and Gastronomic- Golf- Self made Experiences Also provide:- Transfer between Porto and Vigo’s airports- Workshops “Painting Ateliers”- Carriage Ride Tours by the river and at Ponte de Lima’s old centre- Ritual Aromatherapy Baths at the Room- Ponies and cocky animals at the Hotel- Visits to wine farm producers- Visits to cities around the Region from Spain to Oporto- Bicycles - Pampers and surprisesAll our 15 rooms are romantic, bright and delicately decorated creating an exclusive and refined luxurious atmosphere.
