The Pousada was the former Convent of Nossa Senhora Da Fraca. It has been lovingly restored , and even has a wonderful little Islamic archaeological dig site on its premises. Its location is ideal for walking in and around the major points of interest in the town. The occupancy during this period of Corona Virus is small, and they are adhering to good hygenic practices. The rooms are comfortable, and this pousada comes highly recommended.
Great and convenient location for walking including to bus and train stations for wider travel without a car. If you had a car, the hotel has a large and secure onsite car park. Room was very pleasant and comfortable, although my wife found the mattress firmer than she would prefer. Facilities were clean and nicely laid out across the site. Both the bar and restaurant lacked atmosphere in my opinion. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The only negative was the breakfast coffee. In all my travels it was simply the worst coffee, both my wife and I had ever experienced. This was particularly difficult, as my wife is not someone you might want to know without her first morning coffee! Thankfully we discovered a lovely French boulangerie, just a few minutes walk away, which was a life saver!…
Great hotel excellent service. Reception staff was friendly and attentive and provided exceptional service. The hotel had been restored from an old convent but kept the old features which added to the charm. Breakfast was great, beds very comfortable
We have come here for the last 5 years and have always Been delighted with this Pousada. However this time we waited 10 minutes an unattended Receptio desk, other people went into offices To try and find staff. 3 times the bar was unattended. We had a suite but the sitting room had no light! We had to ask for one.
Atmospheric historic building, delightful staff always ready to advise. Very clean comfortable beds great bathroom with a bath which you don’t always get. Evening food a little disappointing, but the rest of the hotel experience we couldn’t fault.
