We arrived close to 4pm and checked with the Front Desk if we could checkin and head up to the Mountains after that. Front Desk was friendly and efficient. Thought it might be a good stay..however when we came down from the Mountains and walked to our hotel. To our surprise, the hotel was all dark and looked shut for...

We loved the beautiful location of this hotel. It was close to the train station and a short walk to the waterfall and river. Morning and night the neighbouring farmers would move their small herd of cattle down beside the hotel and through the streets - fantastic! Staff were helpful, rooms were clean.

Lauterbrunnen is loaded with tourists during the summer and this hotel is one of the basic hotels that caters to tourists wanting to visit the falls or hike in the mountains. We had a room that could sleep six: two twins, a trundle bed of twin mattresses and a fold-down sofa sleeping one or two people. There was a television,...

Stayed here for 2 days recently. Not a lot of positive things to say about it. Room was very hot and impossible to cool down at night unless you wanted all the windows open. No security. Very run down and need of an update. Everything in the room looks like 1970s standard. Small old style TV Rooms not clean and...

I have traveled the world & have never experienced such horrible Customer Service as I did at this hotel. I stayed here alone with my three children for 6, out of the 9 pre-paid, nights. I missed the step right outside our bedroom door, the day we checked in, causing me to tear all of the ligaments in my ankle....

Having traveled extensively in third-world countries, I am a real sport when it comes to hotels. This was among the worst I have ever experienced. The sheets were like sandpaper. You literally woke up when turning over. The balcony was sweet, but unusable due to the stench that came up to it when the door was open. There were no...

We stayed at Hotel Schutzen for 9 nights. Although there were only 2 of us, we asked for a room with a balcony and private bath - we received a larger room (for 3 persons) with a great view. Our balcony looked down the Lauterbrunnen Valley towards Staubach Fall - it could not have been better. The staff was friendly...

Only a few minutes walk from the train station, Hotel Schutzen is easy to find, and right next to the bus stop to other towns (if you don't want to walk). The views are lovely, but I have to comment more on the outstanding customer service! There was a glitch in the online system with our booking, but the team...

Our trip was planned 3 weeks before we left and finding a room in Lauterbrunnen was hard. We took the last room at the Hotel Schutzen. This hotel has recently changed hands so I don't really want to knock the new owners. Coming from the US, our flight arrived early in the morning. Sign at the desk indicated there was...
