Jugglers Rest was literaly a home away from home. The hostel was clean, cosy and just the perfect place to relax a few days. Bruce was very friendly, so the whole place felt more like a private house than a hostel. And the beds were the most comfortable i have ever had in New Zealand...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night before we headed north on the ferry. Bruce was incredibly kind and funny and gave us great tips on how to spend our night in addition to suggestions in Wellington. The place was eclectic and also very clean. It was a quiet night with only a couple others guests but that...

Quite different .... and I loved it, really. Felt immediately at home and welcome. Must say this was one of the loveliest places I have ever been to. Easy decision if I'd go there again. Thanks so much again!

Great place to go for an interesting and restful experience, great hosts and well managed. Even got a ride to the ferry. We stayed in the little chalet so good to have a wee bit of time to ourselves as well.

My best friend surprised me for my birthday with this hostel on our big road trip of New Zealand after doing the dolphin swim in Kaikoura (little further south of Picton). It is lovely and very cozy!! feels like you are at your cottage. It has a lot of character. They offered homemade bread and jam with coffee and juice...

Beautiful old villa, huge grapevines all over the porch, ripe for the picking, also lots of other veggies available from the garden. Breakfast consists of homemade bread with the best homemade jams ever (feijoa and elderberry, yummy plum, grapple (grape and apple)). Also, if you love juggling or would like to learn, you've come to the perfect place. Also you...

Having a high interest in all things Juggling I made the Juggler's Rest a high priority visit as soon as I knew of its existence. JR is a great place to teach, learn, and watch all types of spinning/juggling. I juggle clubs and balls and left JR juggling rings(which I was able to purchase at the super reasonably priced prop...

Staying at the Jugglers rest was the perfect rest we needed. They know just the right balance between social and relaxation. If you want to learn to juggle, they can do it. If you want a private candle light bath, you can soak away all your walks. If you want to stay in a beautiful house and eat straight from...
