We stayed here for one night after the ferry crossing from Wellington and wished that we had stayed longer. The lodge is in a good position with nice views but just 5 minutes drive from town. The studio was comfortable, with a nice outside terrace and chairs, and the communal kitchen was very well equipped. A very relaxing place to...

Super place, great stay. Lots room. Lovely communal kitchen and superb hot bread for breakfast and milk, jam, butter in communal fridge door. Very close to ferry but away from crowds and town but quiet with good views. Wish we had planned to stay longer. Set back from road so quiet and chickens in the field!

My wife and I stayed here for one night as a stopover after arriving on the ferry from Wellington, and were pleased to find that the rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony enjoying the view and relaxing. Great value for money

Phil who owns the lodge met us and was very informative and friendly. The room was pleasant with a good view and outside balcony. There was a large kitchen which you were more than welcome to use to cook meals etc.

I wasn't sure what to expect what I booked the Buccaneer Lodge. As we only needed a room for one night before leaving on the ferry early the next morning, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a motel (and places in Picton seemed expensive). This turned out to be a great choice: well located just a...

I stayed at Buccaneer Lodge Saturday 15th January with my ten year old daughter. I've travelled a lot all over the world and this is in my top three favourite places. Thank you so much for everything. You couldn't ask for a better host, we felt really lucky. The cleanest and crispest place I've ever stayed, a gorgeous location, and...

My sister and I stayed here recently and I highly recommended. The room was very pleasant with a queen and single bed, private bathroom and views over to the bay. There is a shared kitchen and common room, and on site parking. There is no bar fridge in the room, but apart from that perfectly lovely. Really for the price...

Beautiful location, great room, and a warm welcome - Phil was helpful throughout, pointing us towards a good dinner and a nice walk in the morning. He even offered a delicious freshly cooked loaf for breakfast and hosed the frost off the car in the morning. It is very convenient for the Cook Strait ferry, but in a quiet location....

Stayed one night prior to crossing to North Island on the ferry.Buccaneer Lodge is a really lovely place. Our room was at the front up some outside stairs - lovely views, clean, good size and modern. Tea & coffee in room, but no cooking facilities. However, there was a large shared kitchen with all the equipment one could need and...
