From the moment we arrived, Colette made us feel extremely welcome at Whatamonga. My husband and i stayed there for the Easter weekend and can't wait to return. We were the only guests there and were staying in the first cabin. When we pulled up, we were greeted by dolphins swimming in the bay and coffee and cake with Colette;...

We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay at Whatamonga Homestay. Colette really enjoyed meeting you both and hosting you over the Easter holiday weekend. The Sounds are truly an idyllic spot especially when the dolphins are in the Bay. We look forward to seeing you back in NZ in the near future.

A simple B&B with 2 independent units and a room for guests in the main house. Stunning views across Marlborough Sound (definitely no need for a television here!). Collette is an attentive host who prepares continental breakfast in the main house, including her own muffins or scones, and chats with guests over breakfast, providing helpful advice on places to visit...

We were so fortunate to be able to stay at Whatamonga for 4 nights....and could have stayed longer. Loved it. The studio unit had everything we needed, the view and location were amazing...couldn't get enough of it....and Colette was very hospitable, providing varied and delicious breakfasts. Also enjoyed our chats. Would love to stay there again.

If you are going to spend some time exploring Marlborough Sounds then Whatamonga is most certainly the place to stay. We were in Lodge 1 and the views are just about the best from any accommodation I have ever stayed in. Absolutely stunning. The Lodge itself is clean and well appointed and private. We just couldn't bear to draw the...

We stayed in Whatamonga for two nights and it was the highlight of all the places we stayed in NZ. The cabins had to-die-for views and were clean and comfortable and Collette was just the perfect host with breakfasts that the children will be talking about for a long time to come especially those lovely muffins! Thank you

After weeks traveling, and spending a week at bus stops in windy Wellington I began to feel a little uneasy since I seemed to be just biding my time until my trip ended. I made a last-minute reservation to spend my last four nights with Colette in her beautiful corner of the world. Thanks can never convey the warm times...

We stayed in a self-contained cabin at Whatamonga Homestay for 4 nights to do some hiking on the Queen Charlotte Track and explore the Picton-Blenheim-Marlborough Sounds area. The accommodation was excellent, with the cabin providing plenty of space and all the facilities we needed. There is no TV or Internet connection in the cabin, which provided a nice break from...

The whole package was amazing, stunning views, accommodation very comfortable and sharing the lifestyle for 3 days which was so different. Picton a drive away and if open the drive on the back road to Nelson has such great views at every turn. Thank you Collette for your advice and for having us at your very very special Homestay.

“There are 2 stand-alone cabins and both are great. There is also accommodation on the ground floor of the home that offers a bath and 1-2 bedrooms. The 2-bedroom option is really to accommodate those traveling with children, family or friends who require a 2d bedroom. If the ground floor is rented to a party using only 1 of the bedrooms, the 2d unit is NOT rented.”
