Stayed here as part of our tour of New Zealand and booked this place as it was described as a 4 star hotel and had some lovely looking photos on the website. This is a run down hotel that is more like a bad backpackers hostel - Fixings hanging of the wall and electrical wires exposed Curtains hanging off the...

We only stayed overnight. Well situated near the port. Room was clean and spacious, but average. Had a fridge and cattle as well which was welcommed. You can have a breakfast if you pay extra, but we haven't tried it. Very close to ferries (4mins drive).

We stayed in the budget family room and we found it perfectly adequate for what we needed. I had read in reviews prior to arriving that these rooms are awaiting upgrade so was fully prepared for them to be a little dated (hence the cheap price). The hotel may benefit from making it known that the hotel is going through...

This hotel has a superb location and really looks the part from the outside. However the rooms are not just shoddy and in need of upgrade, they are downright filthy. Louvred doors to the bathroom have obviously not been cleaned in years, our curtains were ripped and hung loosely from the rail, the bathroom suite needs to be thrown out....

After staying in backpackers and budget hotels in some other cities we decided to upgrade a little in Picton. I opted to pay a little extra and get a room with a water view. So glad I did. The view was excellent. The water facing rooms also have more windows that can be opened to let in cooler air on...

This hotel presents itself as 4 stars but does not deliver at that level. They need to improve amenities and the standard of servicing the rooms. The impression is that they are learning how to be a 4-star hotel. First the amenities. The hotel itself seems inside out, with the main entrance at the back, and another through an industrial...

We stayed here for one night after doing the Queen Charlotte Track. We got an excellent deal via booking.com about 6 months out so paid the equivalent of what we would have to stay in a backpackers! The room was spacious and comfortable. Our room had a balcony and looked out to the pool. Although the shower head could not...

Located in the heart of Picton, with loads of restaurants, cafes, and bars all within walking distance. Or you could just lie by the pool all day, and get drinks and food from the hotel bar - and really live the life of luxury. Rooms comfy and facilities good, although bathrooms could do with a bit of TLC - especially...
