We stayed one night here in February when travelling with Kiwi Scenic Rail. The motel is close to the ferry terminal and train station and is centrally located in Picton. Very helpful and pleasant owners made us feel welcome and the motel is clean, well equipped and comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip and stay in Picton thanks to this motel....

No complaints here. Service was great, the rooms were clean, communication and very helpful staff and owners. My party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the fact its central was perfect and right in the middle of shops and bars/restaurants. Courtesy van to and from the ferry. What more can you ask for. 100% recommended

A group of eight of us stayed here before and after the Queen Charlotte track. The rooms were well equipped and the beds really comfortable. The hosts were friendly and helpful. It was surprisingly quiet, considering we had rooms overlooking the Main Street. A perfect position for shopping and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip...

We were welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm and upon hearing about our interest in birds the owners spent some time helping us identify places where we would be able to find some of the species we were looking for. Following their suggestions our short stay in Picton was both enjoyable and productive. The Motel itself is also extremely comfortable and...

We booked this hotel for a one-night stay after arriving via ferry from Wellington prior to a 2-night Affinity Cruise in Marlborough Sound (see separate review). Hotel is located about an 8-10 minute walk from the ferry terminal and right in the middle of Picton's "main drag". We were very warmly greeted and helped upstairs with our bags. Our room...

We stayed at this motel the night of March 1st. Great value and excellent location. This motel provided various discount to local restaurants. We found both Kent and Marie very helpful in providing information on New Zealand and our planned ferry ride to Wellington.

We recently spent 3 separate nights at the Gateway Motel Picton while traveling around New Zealand - one night before embarking on the Queen Charlotte Track, one night after the track, and one night after returning from Abel Tasman NP prior to taking the ferry to Wellington. Kent and Marie were lovely hosts and very accommodating. We stayed in a...

We checked in late, the gentlemen at the front desk was beyond friendly and helpful. We were hooked up with a beautiful room. The bed was beyond comfortable. They helped us book our fairy and even got us a discounted rate! Excellent stay, would not hesitate to do it again when back in the area!

Beautifully presented motel. Cosy, with a lot of little 'extras' tucked away inside. Very friendly owners. Great value for the money. Very handy to the ferry terminal. Really have to recommend this place.

We stayed here one night before taking the ferry to Wellington. The motel is conveniently located within walking distance of the ferry terminal or a three-minute drive, and in the centre of the (very) small town. There's no view - we looked onto the car park - but the room was comfortable, there was a good-sized bathroom with shower, the...
