This property with its sculpture park is one of the uniquest experiences that I have encountered anywhere in my travels. The owners are patrons of the arts, the sculpture garden is unbelievable. Visit!

Our second day in New Zealand and we took the ferry to Waiheke Island. After a journey by car, about 40 minutes, we passed through the gate to this private enclave. Down a steep drive, peaking at a couple large sculptures, we arrived at reception. John and Jo Es offed us to our cottage. All details were just right...simple, luscious,...

Having visited Waiheke for many many years, it was particularly rewarding to visit a piece of the island that was so private and right on the beach. The cottage was very comfortable and more than lived up to expectations as did our hosts. The sculpture park and what has been achieved is very inspiring. Even though Connells Bay seems far...

We needed something special for a significant anniversary - and Connells Bay provided that in spades! The cottage was perfect - immaculately set up, right on the water, superbly comfortable bedding - couldn't ask for more. We were also over for the headland Sculpture on the Gulf event, so were able to experience world class outdoor sculpture at both ends...

We needed a few days away from the hurly burly of life. The prospect of an island, with vineyards and restaurants, appealed. Perhaps some sculpture to admire, and think about, would be a bonus. Connell's Bay more than delivered. Walk out the front gate onto the beach. Gaze at the impossibly beautiful vistas. Listen to the birds. Read a book....

We love Connell's Bay. This was our third visit and I'm already thinking about when we can get back there again. The cottage is in a sculpture park in a deep fold in the quiet end of Waiheke Island - a 45 min vehicular ferry ride from Auckland. You MUST take a 4 wheel drive to get safely up and...

As an expat New Zealander living in London it's places like Connell's Bay that make you wonder why you ever left home. Your gracious and friendly hosts John and Jo Gow have put a lot of thought into equipping the guest cottage with everything you might need but the stunning and peaceful surroundings really need no embellishment and you could...

Words can hardly describe the wonderful experience that is Connells Bay. An absolute haven. The natural beauty of the land alongside stunning and thought provoking sculptures was breathtaking. The guest cottage with its white picket fences and the path leading to your own beach and the turquoise sea lapping..just gorgeous. The cottage itself was beautifully maintained and thoughtfully stocked with...

We stayed at Connnells Bay for 6 nights in December 2013 and we were joined by our son and his wife and their 8 day old baby! It couldn't have been more perfect. The cottage and its location are idyllic. Caretakers Sally and Phil were brilliant in every detail including being there when you needed them but always respectful of...
