Staff was very friendly upon entry and check in. You enter at street level and take an elevator to the lobby above. I was in town for a baseball game. This hotel is a 2 minute walk to Nationals Park. PERFECT LOCATION for that! Rooms are all suites, built for long term with cutlery, dishwasher, fridge, etc. full kitchen. Room was clean. Really great breakfast that’s free to you in the morning with your stay. No issues with this hotel. Price seems competitive with everywhere else in the city. Enjoy!
I would definitely stay her again and I would recommend it. There's just 1 thing I would update, the beds. They were too firm for me, however all the amenities made up for it. Also the location was great. Yes it's out of the way a tiny bit. But hop on the metro which is a quick walk on the adjacent corner and you can go almost anywhere. The breakfast, the laundry, even their little market makes up for the beds, at least in my opinion.
Residence Inn by Marriott Washington Capitol Hill/Navy Yard on First Street in DC is a great place to stay that is in the middle of everything. I really like the location and everything that they have available here. The staff here is very accommodating and makes sure that you have everything that you need for the best stay.
I had an opportunity to stay at this hotel while I was in Washington DC last week. The staff went above and beyond to make you feel like you were at home. The rooms were very spacious and the air-conditioning worked perfectly. if you are in the Washington DC area and you’re looking for an amazing place to stay look no further.
Hotel vibe is "Average": from the hotel entrance (check-in on another floor) to room and hallways state (worn-down but well-maintained). Clean-ish all around (shower with some hairs and low water pressure, bed with few crumbs, clean room otherwise), polite personnel, good breakfast. close to Metro. Bunch of restaurants around but nothing to write home about and priced accordingly with the area. Better Marriott's around in the same price range if you want to stick with the brand.
Been here multiple times so this is an update. Two night stay for a solo business trip. The location is right near the baseball park and the waterfront area. Green line metro stop can be seen from the hotel lobby so it's really close. Modern lobby and rooms. Checkin was smooth and efficient. Room was modern and clean. This layout had the kitchenette not in direct view of the bed so I couldn't hear the fridge which I normally do. Nice glass shower door accentuates the modern look. Obviously, not a big deal but much nicer than a flimsy shower curtain. Comfortable large bed. Safe in the closet to keep valuables safe. TV is close to the desk so not ideal to watch TV while at the desk. Plenty of USB and 110v outlets. And, there is a handy master light switch near the door that turns off the lights with one button. Break has multiple hot offerings like cheese omelettes and english muffin sandwiches.…
We stayed at the Residence Inn from July 1-7 with family. Amazing location with Metro 5 mins away and many restaurants around the hotel. The ballpark is just around the corner to catch a game! All the staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly, made our stay easy. Breakfast was good but we were there for 7 days, they did rotate the selections every few days. Hotel is new so rooms and common areas are still super clean and new looking. We got suites, it was very spacious with full kitchen. Definitely worth the extra money if you are staying longer. As others have mentioned, you need to take an extra set of elevators to get to lobby and then another set of elevators to get to rooms. It’s a bit inconvenient but we didn’t mind it. Overall, love the hotel and the incredible staff. Would definitely recommend it!…
When planning a family trip to Washington DC, there are many choices in hotels. Location and price being the top two, followed by amenities such as room size, breakfast included and things to do in the area. Residence Inn by Marriott has fast become my favorite hotel to stay in. For this trip I was taking my grandson as well as my sister. We needed a room with three beds as well as a full kitchen, the added bonus of breakfast also saves time and money. There are several Residence Inns to choose from in the DC area, but the Navy Yard/Capitol Hill location was fantastic for quickly riding the metro in and out of the city. Just steps from the Navy Yard/Ballpark metro station, We were just four stops away from getting to all the Smithsonian’s as well as just being three steps away from the opposite direction to visit Capitol Hill. From the moment you enter the hotel at the street level, you are greeted warmly, Brook was there each day that we were staying and he made us feel like we were coming home after each day of our adventures. Ashley at the front desk was fantastic, full of information and took care of all of our needs including a late check out, all with a friendly and helpful attitude! All three mornings we woke up at the hotel, we were treated to a delicious breakfast with many options. Daisy was so attentive and greeted us each morning making sure we had everything we needed for a delicious meal. The style of the hotel and the function of the rooms is very clean and modern. All of the appliances seemed brand-new and the dishes and cookware were perfect for 4 to 6 people. The mattresses were extremely comfortable, the pillows so fluffy and the bedding very soft. Wonderful shower, plenty of hot water and good pressure. There were several restaurants of different types around the hotel as well as several options for groceries. If you are planning on taking your family to DC this summer, I highly recommend this location especially if you’re planning on using the metro. The large comfortable rooms, the amazing breakfast and of course the incredible staff made this the perfect location for any DC trip…
Clean room, bed was comparable to sleeping on bricks and zero water pressure in the shower. Great location but we left a night early, couldn’t take the bed one more night. The view was into another office building.
Just spent 4 nights here. Hotel is relatively new and everything was clean and in good condition. Our corner studio room was large and well equipped although we didn’t prepare any meals. Room was very quiet and we slept well each night. The gym is well equipped. Staff are very friendly. The breakfast had a number of hot items with some variety each day. The cold items were the same each day but with many choices. Lots of muffins and scones but no bagels or toast. It was a 20-40 minute walk to the various museums but metro stop is only a block away.
