The Otis Place worked well for us. The vibrant, safe neighborhood and easy access to the Metro, as well as the parking pass, made this a good fit for our needs. The room, while plenty adequate, was overly cluttered. Our host was very helpful with his recommendations. This is not a traditional bed and breakfast, as breakfast was not a...

We enjoyed this B&B and would stay here again. But I think it is better to say how it is to avoid any disappointment: . maybe you will see the host Larry very little (we saw him in the mornings only, and not every day) . you prepare the breakfast yourself with the food that is available in the cupboards...

Thanks for the great review. I have professional cleaners clean before and after each stay. I who live there clean during the stay as the Guest desires. I have a doorknob sign saying "do not disturb" or "request cleaning" so I follow which sign the Guest displays. Best, LR

First off, this B6B is perfectly located near Pentworth station, so it's really easy to go to downtown Washington. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets around. The rooms are cozy and decorated with much dedication and love. This generates a really nice feeling of being home. The owner, Larry, is a genuine nice guy who provides tips and advice...

This stay(4 days) was our 3rd visit to Larry's historical B & B.. Conveniently located, with great ethnic restaurants, shops, and the Metro within short walking distance, we found our stay to be quite pleasurable.. The neighborhood has been gloriously revitalized and we always felt safe walking about, even at night.. The breakfasts were ample and varied, coffee individually prepared,...

We stayed two nights in February while visiting our grandson. Our room was cozy and warm. The house was quiet. It's a short walking distance to shops, transportation and great restaurants. The BandB was how it was described on the website. No surprises. Bo, the cat, was a gracious host.

We really enjoyed our stay at Otis Place. Larry. the owner was very attentive to our needs and our comfort level. Our kids loved the cat, Bo as he did us I believe. Larry even took the time to prepare small departing gifts that were left on our luggage just before we left. Metro stations are not far by foot...

I care about the following things when staying on a business trip: -Location -Sleep -Shower -Breakfast -Amenities -Price My summary on this place: OK for three nights, but only because I know and am comfortable in DC. Location was fine - I was working near Dupont Circle so the commute was about 30 minutes via Metro. The neighborhood is "recently...

Quirky is an odd term to use when I describe the following event. I have signs on my front door advising Guests to watch out for my indoor cat. On night one for this Guest, lovely Bo, the 14 year old cat did escape. As of 5/20, it has been a week since he has been lost. What a heartache...

The Otis Place B & B is....eclectic, to say the least. Bric a brac abounds on every available surface. Stairs are very narrow and a bit difficult to negotiate with a full suitcase. The Mauve Room was replete with decoration, down to Mardi Gras beads on every door knob. The room, although cluttered, was absolutely spotless. Not a spec of...

First the plusses. This B&B is located in a mostly quiet, tranisitonal neighborhood and is the only choice within about a mile if you have reason to locate in Petworth. It is correctly represented as a private home with 2 rooms let out (on the second floor). It is clean and appears to be safe. The better of the 2...
