We stayed for 3 nights the hotel is great, breakfast is limited but there are plenty of nearby places to eat. Located in the George Washington university few min walk, you are on top of the washington monuments. Not an expensive stay but a very enjoyable one
Stayed there last month and wasn’t disappointed. Great location for the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, and Washington Monument. Easy to get to the GWU Foggy Bottom Metro Station from where you can travel anywhere in the DC Area. Hotel rooms are very well laid out with comfortable beds and plush pillows. The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. There is a coffee bag processor in the rooms with supplied creamer and sugar. There is a mini fridge in the room too. There is a Starbucks on the corner and a Subway next door to the hotel. Around the block there is a 7-11 Convenience Store.
The hotel is very close to the Lincoln memorial and restaurants. The front desk staff are really nice. When I checked in Sona at the front desk helped us get the best room available. She was extremely helpful to all the customers. She went out of her way to tell us about local places to eat, subway access, and parking information. When she helped my family check in she was 5min from the end of her shift. This did not prevent her from figuring out our room situation. She is friendly and always smiling! The hotel staff in general were really nice and this made the stay even more memorable! Thank you for all your help! Fernando family room #806
The hotel is sparkling clean and updated. No issues with the room other than it’s small and our view is of a brick wall. Walking distance to the Capitol Mall. I’m here with my two teenagers. We were surprised by the lack of ordinary “kid” breakfast food and how tiny the pool is. Room does not have a microwave. For feeding your kids, there is a 7-11 around the block and a Subway.
The hotel is very nicely located with all the main attractions reached by walk: White House, Lincoln Memorial, Capitol, etc. The room was spacious and comfortable and they have a very convenient valet service. The breakfast is quite basic, even below standard.
Before getting here, we recently had a trip to Big Sky Montana where we stayed in a 5 star hotel. I must say that this courtyard is a MUCH better hotel than the 5 star in big sky! The staff is amazing, it is clean, and housekeeping comes everyday. There is a bar with plenty of room to gather and chat. The National Mall and the White House are just minutes away walking. And there is a bike share right across the street. Highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed here for a long weekend and were very pleased. The staff is so helpful and friendly - check in and check out was fast and efficient. The bistro is very convenient for breakfast, an easy, simple dinner or drinks at the end of the day. Alber, who is the bartender and waiter for the bistro is wonderful - friendly and very customer focused. The room and bathroom were both spotless and the bed comfortable. The Starbucks and Subway right next door was very convenient. Great location to get to the monuments, restaurant districts and Washington Airport.
Having not spent a significant amount of time in Foggy Bottom in many years, I was surprised when the Marriott website directed me here. I didn't even know the hotel existed. I can say that it will be my go-to hotel for future stays in DC. The location is perfect for access to the Mall, GWU, and a variety of government agencies. In fact, my room had an amazing view of the State Department and the Lincoln Memorial behind it. (I did wonder if the staff at the Red Cross across the street could see into my room...) The room is very large, clean and modern. I really liked the multi-port USB charging station. That was a really nice feature. The TV was nice and big and had great channels as well as options for streaming. But, honestly, I spent most of my time either at work or jogging on the Mall and over the Memorial Bridge to nearby Roosevelt Island. The hotel has a decent gym though it seems the elliptical machines are pretty beat up. There is also a small pool which was a really nice place to visit at the end of the day. The gym is 24/hour and the pool is open from 6am-11pm which are really long hours compared to many hotels. I will say that the breakfast situation wasn't ideal. I had a package that included breakfast but there is no buffet-style option and it was not really clear to me what was included. It was also annoying that I couldn't even get a piece of fruit. I am afraid that some hotels will take the opportunity to quietly abolish formerly friendly policies like breakfasts. Likewise, breakfast only includes one drink - coffee or tea. A la carte breakfast items were incredibly expensive too. I was not impressed by the Bistro. Also, Courtyard Marriott used to provide a nice coffee/tea service in the lobby but that is gone too. The result is that the stay is no longer as hospitable as it once was. Currently, there is no daily house-keeping but house-keeping available upon request with a day's notice. I never requested cleaning in my stay. Lastly, check-out time is 12-noon. At 11:58, the staff cut the power to my TV which I felt was pretty unnecessary and left a bad taste in my mouth on my way out the door. (For the record, I was about to leave the room...)…
Comfortable, clean, convenient - all you could ask of a Courtyard by Marriott! And reasonably priced as well, considering it's just a few steps from the Farragut Metro stops and a hop-skip-and-jump from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and the Mall. The accomodation was quite roomy and quiet, comfy mattress and pillows; decent exercise room with dumbbells up to 50 lbs, a multi-station cable machine, treadmills, ellipticals, and bicycles. Lobby had a bar and plenty of seating for meet-and-greets. Staff was pleasant and helpful; valet parking too. Perfect for the biz traveler - and family vacation as well!
I stayed two nights at the Marriott Courtyard Washington DC Foggy Bottom in July 2021. The hotel has a great location. I could walk to the Lincoln Memorial or White House in about 15 minutes (opposite directions). The Foggy Bottom / George Washington University metro station and the Farragut West metro station both on the blue line are also 15 minutes walking. The check-in process and check-out process were smooth. The front office staff were very nice and helpful. My room was very comfortable with good air conditioning. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower were good. In the lobby was the Bistro were I got a Starbucks latte and scone for breakfast. There was a Subway next to the hotel where I got lunch for take out. The valet parking was good and my car was kept in a secure garage. I definitely enjoyed my stay and the excellent location and plan to stay here again for my next trip to Washington DC.…
