Arriving in DC the weekend of Hurricane Ian, the convenience of the hotel to Union Station and the Metro was so helpful. Not even a 4 minute hike! Staff at check in and out is courteous and helpful. Great location if you enjoy walking to The Capitol and Smithsonian Museums. On site pub/restaurant offered great food. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfy. Next time I come back to DC, this is where I will stay again.
We are finishing up our last night here as I type this. It has been such a lovely experience! The staff are warm and welcoming. The room, while a bit small (we booked a single bed room and the size reminded me of some hotels we’ve stayed at in Europe), was clean and had a boutique feel to it. The bathroom was roomy and the shower was really nice! It’s so close to the Capitol which is also nice. We walked a lot of places! Will definitely stay again!
I would like to say in advance that I haven't been at this hotel. Unfortunately, the visit did not happen. The reason was the exceedingly poor customer service before the stay. I found the hotel on Tripadvisor and booked it through an internet broker. The main reasons to choose this hotel were the good reviews and the perfect location. The price through the internet broker was good, but about 10% cheaper than through the hotel webpage. I work in tourism myself and am of the opinion of booking directly with the hotel, so they do not have to pay the commissions. This was also the reason why I then wrote to the hotel, whether they can offer me the same price. First, I haven't received an answer for two days, then only when I wrote again. But the offer of the hotel was not competitive. I was willing to pay the more expensive price, if any perk was offered to me (my suggestion was breakfast included). From this reply on, I never heard anything back from the hotel. I tried to contact the hotel about 5 times on different email addresses. Each of my email was friendly and constructive, and I really had an interest to stay in this hotel. I would have even accepted a polite negative answer and just used my internet booking. But there was no response anymore, not even when I wrote to the management. This is not the way to deal with customers, especially when they really want to help. Too bad. I have cancelled everything with the hotel now and have booked another hotel - by the way directly, because the price there was the same as through the Internet platforms.…
Such good attention to detail. Rooms were spacious, good location, great staff! Michael was especially accommodating day after day during our conference! Will definitely stay here next time I am in DC.
Stayed here for 2 nights last week and was a great stay. They kindly upgraded us to an Executive suite which was massive. Front desk staff were really friendly, particularly the man who checked us in. Huge, comfortable bed. Hotel a little dated but was clean and was a perfect base for us for exploring this great city. And right by Union station so very handy for our 6.10am train to NYC! Tea and coffee making facilities on the 1st floor which we used a few times, and a cool water dispenser Overall a great stay and good value for money, perfect for a couple of nights exploring the city, would be happy to recommend!
We arrived and were greeted with parking instructions from Michael out front. When we went to check in, Brenda at the desk was very bright and cheerful-a welcome experience after a six hour drive to get there. She welcomed us and helped with directions, and gave us a red carpet feel at checkin. One of our best anniversary trips so far! Thanks to the friendly concierge and desk staff. What a pleasure! (Skip the Dubliner….so many other places to go!)
This hotel exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. Our hosts Brenda and Michelle made us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our stay. They were very accommodating and special. Everything else at this hotel was great including the in house restaurant. Will definitely be looking to stay there again.
We really enjoyed the Phoenix Park Hotel. It is an older building and has some of the wonderful old building features, the smaller size elevators and some exceptional details work in the public areas. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating and our room was well kept, clean and cozy. Our only detraction was the quite loud machinery from the roof of the building next door, which would not have been an issue if we were not in one of the rooms at the back of the hotel. The water pressure in the showers and sink is great and there is plenty of hot water. The toilets sound a bit like those on an airplane but they are good other than that. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities overall were exceptional. There is 24 hour complementary coffee on the 2nd floor and a small common area there which is good for running into the varied collection of individuals staying at the Phoenix Park. We had a delightful stay and will certainly return.…
The Phoenix Park was a great place to spend a Labor Day weekend. Location was super for access to Amtrak atUnion Station for our mode of transportation to and from DC. Plus right next to The Postal Museum which we loved. Brenda Ford and Robyn at the check in desk we’re super helpful and friendly. We were able to check in early and the room was clean and comfy. Plus we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at the attached Dubliner Pub which had Irish music at night. We plan to return to this hotel in future DC trips. I recommend it highly.
I have recently stayed in Phoenix Park Hotel on a trip to DC with my family. The hotel is located very close to from the Union Station. It is less than 5 minute walk away from the subway station or the circulator stop or a short walk to the Capitol Hill. The hotel is quiet and clean. The staff is friendly. I would definitely stay again at this hotel next time I visit DC.
