This is a pretty good location, especially if you want to walk to dinner (walkable neighborhood and a lot of restaurants nearby). Desk staff are friendly; a particular perk was when I walked in after a surprise thunderstorm and the desk girl pre-emptively offered me a towel. My room was clean and comfortable, in line with what I paid to...

Hello RCKKMK, Thanks for your review of Topaz. I'm glad you were well taken care of. The comedy show downstairs is an open mic event. There's a good mixture of seasoned comics and newbies. Most are pretty funny. So more so than others. But, I've never had a bad time when I've stayed after work for the show. Thanks again....

Stayed at this hotel enroute to NY. Was a wonderful relaxing and peaceful choice. Hotel is centrally located to all things I wanted to see and do. Nice and friendly reception from all and very accommodating with good area information. Special thanks to Rick the bartender and Stephanie at the desk. All the other ladies at the desk provided excellent...

Since we were only in DC for 1 night I didn't want to stay at a really expensive place so I chose the Topaz based on the low cost, reviews, and the fact that I have had great experiences with Kimpton hotels. The hotel did not disappoint. I could not have enjoyed the stay more. The room itself (we booked...

Hello Cinnam0n, Thanks for recommending Topaz to fellow travelers! I'm glad to read that we took great care of you. I remember the good old days when we could just walk a couple of blocks to the Dupont Circle Metro. Hopefully the construction will be finished soon so I can once again brag at cocktail parties about how close we...

Our family of 3 stayed for 6 nights for a family vacation. The room was pretty typical except for an added dressing area. This proved very useful with 3 people getting ready at once. Everything was nearly new. No views from our room but I do not know if other rooms had views. We got the continental breakfast add on...

Our expectations of the hotel were high and we looked forward to another fantastic Kimpton stay. We were disappointed in the cramped and uncomfortable lobby. A hefty price for use of the public computer was a shock. The room was nice and quite large, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom very nice. I recommend the hotel, but it is not...

Hello BAEberly, I'm glad you had a comfortable and enjoyable visit. Our lobby area is indeed a little cozy. And that's kind of what the Topaz is all about. We're not the biggest or most extravagant hotel. But, the hotel is clean, stylish, and the people are some of the friendliest around. I think it's this variety, even within the...

Just returned home from a two day stay at Topaz Hotel. Room was spacious and very clean. Location is perfect. Staff extremely professional, friendly and accommodating. They always address you coming or going. Breakfast was affordable and delicious as were the happy hour appetizers and complimentary wine! . In my opinion, a true Kimpton experience. I enjoyed my two night stay in the Topaz (I was on business in DC). It’s well located (although a little walk from the subway) in an old style street. The hotel itself is tastefully decorated. The rooms are spacious and sympathetically laid out. Don't be put off by the somewhat small reception area which can get a busy at...

Washington DC is one of those cities that has always loomed large in my head but I’d never really made much effort to spend time in.
