stayed there for a week, sort of enjoyed it given its strategic location and easy access to nearby historical locations. But i realized that i had left my $200 Bose headphone at the room couple hours after i checked out, and called them to secure it. They asked me to call them the following day to give them time to...

Celebrating their 100th year anniversary, this is an old hotel that hadn't had many upgrades. It's water radiator heating, old plumbing and ventilation, the fire staircase is an old cast iron spiral stair case, and the in room TV is a tube tv. All that said the beds were comfy the sheets and towel clean. Check in and out was...

Booked three nights at the Hotel Harrington, in downtown DC, and thrilled with the location. The hotel is 104 years old, and shows signs of its age. However the chipped paint, dents in the skirting boards and aged elevators are part of the fabric of this hotel, and it's history. Our room was clean and tidy, and thrilled to get...

As everyone will tell you, this is an old hotel that has not been modernized in ages. But ti is clean and serviceable, and the price can't be beat for DC. I mainly went because it accepted dogs. Service was very good--there was a blockage in the bath, they were up very fast and fixed it immediately. I had to...

There is only one plus to this dump. It is within walking distance to many sites and close to the Big Red Bus. I dreaded going back there after a long day of sightseeing and even contemplated sleeping in our car to avoid it. DC was fully booked unless we wanted to pay over $1000 per night and that was...

As other reviewers have mentioned - this hotel is very basic. If you want a modern hotel or luxury, this is not for you! I searched for hours online to try and find accommodation in DC that was affordable and didn't break the bank, but was still in a great location. I really struggled to find anywhere that had any...

Small but adequate room and good price for walking distance to White House and many other attractions. Room was too hot (in December) and a maintenance man came to adjust the radiator and open the window. Better but still a little too warm. Breakfast buffet for $12 was overpriced for so-so food.

It was clean, bare bones, hasn't been redorated in a long time, including still having bathroom tile from many decades past. The main problem was the lack of sprinkler system. Is that even legal anymore?

If you want a modern hotel with all mod cons, the Harrington is not for you. If you want a clean basic room in a great location, at a price way below anything else in the area (Washington hotels are expensive with a capital E), go to the Harrington. It's a hotel built in 1914, family-owned and run ever since,...

Pros: Dependable and fast internet. Cons: Water is either hot or cold (no in between). Floor appears to have never been vacuumed. Space is VERY small. No working heat or A/C. Uncomfortable bed. Sub-par toiletries. I've seen ratings from 3.5 to 4.5 stars and can't imagine how, though this is a family place and that could be loyalty reviews. If...
