Contrary to many of the reviews, I found this hotel to be clean, quiet (as a city center can be), and friendly. It is old so don't be put off by the wall 'decor'. The bathrooms were spacious, old (which means big and tiled) but with new plumbing fixtures. The shower is 'low volume' which means that extra gallons don't...

There are only two good things about this hotel: price (it is the only affordable hotel in Washington DC) and the location (you can walk to all main sights, including the White House). But it looks -and it is- old, noisy and unpleasant. No frills at all. No luxuries of any kind. It is clean -and in this kind of...

This is not a spa. It is a place to sleep in a great location in Washington DC. If you want pampering, go elsewhere. Yes, it is old, but my room was very clean. The mattress was a bit firm, but I am used to that, and slept like a baby. My "small double" was perfectly adequate. Being forwarned, I...

We stayed five nights and had two clean adjoining rooms that included a queen, two twins, and 2 bathrooms. The location of the Harrington can't be beat. We enjoyed our stay very much and found the staff to be attentive and helpful with everything from cabs and directions to restaurants, reservations and safety concerns. We also had the 11th floor...

This was our second stay in this hotel and although it is a bit run down, it is a decent hotel with reasonable rates. The carpets and decor desperately need an update. I can say that our room was clean and I felt safe staying there with my three children. The selling point for me about this hotel is its...

Had a wonderful experience. Sure the hotel is old and dated, thats no secret. That is part of the ambience of this place. We were up on the 10th floor across from Barnes & Nobel. The windows actually opened up and at night I would lay there and listen to the sounds of the city. Horns blowing, sirens in the...

Spent three nights here in March. The first room had a broken thermostat that just spun around. Called the maintenance man who tried to fix the radiator but by 4 am it was too hot to touch and we asked for a new room as the heat was unbearable. We got one by 5 am and at least it had...

I loved this hotel and stayed with my father and two daughters on a higher floor, maybe 10 or 11. The only issue was that the shower was haunted. Really. I would get in and turn on the water in the ancient old tub with a separate knob for hot and cold. Once I was totally soaped down, the water...

I've stayed at the Harrington Hotel twice now. During my most recent stay (March 2013), the front desk staff really exceeded my expectations on check in and check out. This hotel is a great value in a great location.

Cheap, dirty, ancient and loud. Less like a hotel room and more like sleeping on the bed of a friend who is very poor. Ancient sketchy radiator. No bathroom toiletries. Oldest tile I've ever seen in the bathroom. Bathroom door has been painted a thousand times and is chipping away. I expected this type of hotel going in though, so...
