I was in town for a short time and was happy I booked here. I was within walking distance of the Mall and monuments and a good majority of the museums. The hotel was clean and the staff was very kind and accommodating.
The location of this hotel is an absolute winner!!!!
We drove in and parked in the hotel parking (about $40 from memory - check). The location of the hotel meant that we didn't use the car for the duration of the stay... We walked everywhere....More

I stayed one night at the hotel whilst on holiday from Australia. The location couldn’t be better for tourism, it’s perfect. You can walk to many attractions and there is a metro station nearby.
The rooms were tidy and beds were comfortable.

The hotel was in a good location with the exception of the train noise (but it really didn't bother us too much). When we checked in, I asked about noise and the receptionist was very honest about it. She put us on the 2nd floor...More

Thank you for staying with us during your visit to our nation's capital. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the quiet room, the cleanliness of the property, and our convenient proximity to local attractions.
We booked 2 rooms -- a king room and a one-bedroom suite room. We arrived at 2:30 pm and tried to check in, but we were told our rooms were not ready yet (and wouldn't be ready at the prescribed 3 pm check-in time), and...More

I don't know of any museum specifically for just Martin Luther King Jr. There are tours that include a ride to the memorial as well as all the other memorials around the Tidal Basin. When we went for the walk to the memorials (including MLK) we caught a cab first thing in the morning to the Jefferson Memorial (@$12), beat all the crowds and walked around to the National Monument and on from there. It was a beautiful day!
I did find this information for you:
The most convenient way to reach the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial is by Metrobus or Metro. If traveling by bus, use the 32, 34 or 36 Metrobus routes. The closest Metro stop is Smithsonian, on the Orange, Blue and Silver lines. Of course, the memorial is in very close proximity to the other memorials surrounding the Tidal Basin.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is no fee to visit. National Park Service rangers are on site to answer questions from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Interpretive programs are available throughout the day and upon request.
I'd use Google maps for truly accurate distances from the hotel to any memorials/monuments. The museums are truly the closest.
Hope that helps
Thanks for your question. As others have mentioned, the National Mall is just a block away from the hotel. There are enormous grassy areas where kids can run around freely, without worry of traffic.
