The room was reasonable in size but quite dark. There was little outside noise; some noise from other rooms came through on occasion but overall quiet. Room was clean. Wifi was fairly fast. The parking is a mess. Valet cannot really keep up with the volume, which given the price is unacceptable. Overall it was a fine stay but not necessarily exceptional compared to other West End hotels.
We have been on a long road trip looking at colleges for my daughter with DC being our last stop. We arrived at the hotel exhausted from being on the road for 12 hours and Josh greeted us with a smile and a willingness to help attitude. He was committed to make our stay very comfortable and looked for a room that would have a view for the kids and also away from the elevator to get some good rest. Thank you Josh! All the people in the hotel greeted us with a smile and a greeting! Moreover, this hotel does have room service everyday, so you come to clean bed! The location is great, close to some very good universities, restaurants and tourist attractions!
I have struggled with this review. This has been my go-to hotel in DC for years. The staff are outstanding, and the rooms are always clean. Additionally, there is daily housekeeping, an increasingly rare amenity. On this visit, however, three situations were quite distressing. The first was the new “Destination Fee”. This is simply a disguised rate increase, and no amount of clever marketing about how much you get for that $25/day will justify it. Secondly, being placed in the “business wing” rather than the main hotel. It is dark, claustrophobic with bleak rooms. I assume it is used for overflow, but I found it quite undesirable. Finally, the restaurant menu continues to shrink. Basically, describing it as a restaurant seems a bit of a stretch. On the positive side, the M Club is quite nice, and the staff are very caring and nice. Since this is the only perk available to Titanium members, this can be a make or break experience. Still deciding whether to move to the Westin on my next visit.…
Your pretty standard Marriott. Nice-enough lobby; OK customer service; small rooms; daily housekeeping (nice!). The M Club was packed but offered a variety of options (note: the only benefit offered this Titanium member). Would recommend the more modern and spacious Embassy Suites across the street.
I stayed here for 3 days and had an absolutely lovely experience. It has become clear to me for quite some time that awesome stays almost solely rest with the staff. The following are exceptional marvels: My front desk experiences with Diana and Raul were nothing short of perfection. The friendly vibe of the staff was extraordinary. They guided me to what I needed locally. I had a solid check in and check out. They went the extra mile of having an order ready upon my return from a night out. I most definitely have to recommend Sam's Old Fashioned. It's a thing for a reason. Do it. No trust me. Do it. Alex is a super cool dude, who is extremely attentive. Constantly checking in to make sure everyone has what they need. Haven't seen anyone hustle like that in awhile. He definitely made my first night a blast. The woman who came to clean my room was so pleasant and flexible. I was on a call when she came and I asked her to come back. She came back right on time and finished up perfectly just as I was returning to the room. With all that said I think I would have to say the highlight was Valerie in M lounge. She has almost a magical aura about her constantly beaming with positivity. She is attentive, welcoming and detail oriented. She was a pleasure every morning. I really like the M Lounge to take a break from the day and for breakfast. With all that said - I loved my suite. The bed slept very well and it was clearly spacious. I do have to say sofa is quite worn down so I avoided it, there was part of a plank missing on the floor and the dining room chairs are awkward to sit in but those are super minor things that did not affect me giving this stay 5 stars. In the most sincere and humbling way, thank you all for a wonderful stay. I may be seeing you Mid December. …
This hotel was a decent run-of-mill business hotel. Fine but nothing extraordinary. Very busy due to airline staff staying here. The room was clean, albeit a little bit dated. Service was good all around. The M Club lounge was disappointing. The food in the lounge was subpar and very limited in the evenings. Dry salmon and dry risotto that looked like it had been under the heat lamp for days. Breakfast was better. The service in the M Club was top notch. The ladies are kind and attentive and simply superb. Their service alone moved this review from a three star review to a four star review! I was also disappointed by the “Destination Fee”. It includes a food and beverage credit and multiple tourist attraction benefits. None of which are valuable to a business traveller who will be in the hotel room for less than 12 hours and won’t have time to enjoy those benefits. Would I stay here again? Maybe, but I’m definitely checking out other DC hotels first.…
Great stay from start to finish, including a granted late checkout. Breakfast and dinner meals very tasty. Fitness room was good, too. In the middle of the week, I had a very loud person in the room next to me. I reported it and without any hesitation I was given another room. Great hospitability by Genet Yeshewalule at the front desk. I can highly recommend this hotel, given the staff, food, and location.
The hotel was located in a great area. A major plus for me was that there was self-parking in the garage and I could leave & return without paying multiple times or wait on valet. My check-in experience was great. Definitely want to shout out Kwame who helped get us checked in. Although he was new, he did a great job and asked questions to ensure our needs were met. The room size was standard, but the bathroom was very small. The view out of our room would’ve been nice if the hotel actually cleaned the exterior windows. The linen wasn’t the cleanest, but we requested more, and it was brought up right away from housekeeping. Other than that, I would stay here again based on the location and the experience wasn’t terrible.
This is one of my favorite places to stay when I go to DC. It is a convenient location, tucked between DuPont Circle and Foggy Bottom. It is a short walk over the bridge to Georgetown. The staff are amazing. Deanna at the front desk was so nice and was able to accommodate a late checkout for me since my flight was so late. The hotel room itself is a good size and is always clean.
This is an excellent property in a great location near Dupont Circle and in Georgetown area. Very close to all major attractions. Stayed here with my family for 3 days and we had such a pleasant stay. The front desk agents are very professional, helpful and courteous. As a Platinum member, I love that the hotel has a M Lounge with a great staff and excellent food quality for breakfast and complimentary snacks/drinks. The room was very comfy and quiet and also really liked they offer a self-parking option which is hassle free with a reasonable price ($45 daily) for a big city as DC. In summary, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back in the future.
