Beautiful, modern, friendly, comfortable; absolutely the best hotel around Dupont Circle. The excellent, knowledgeable staff made our stay flawless and very comfortable; everyone was kind and friendly. First rate accommodations and service. You can't beat the location with easy walking distance to amazing restaurants. Our perfect valet service was staffed by the nicest people as well. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended! Look no further; this is the best! Special thanks to all the staff and the manager: very kind, considerate people.
My fiance (now husband!) and I stayed at the Royal Sonesta in DC for 2 nights for our wedding with our dog. We worked with Allie R. who was amazing at coordinating everything and made sure everything went smoothly. We stayed in a King Executive Studio Suite and were amazed by the large size of the room was and the gorgeous views we had of the city! The hotel room was spacious, exceptionally clean and they even included thoughtful touches for our dog such as a fluffy dog bed and 2 large bowls for food and water. In addition, all of the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful whenever we had any questions or needed anything. The location is also superb - it is located on a very cute street with lots of bars and restaurants and in the heart of Dupont Circle. We can't wait to stay at the Royal Sonesta again!…
This is an average hotel that’s overpriced compared to others of similar stature in DC. Room was ok. Upgraded from a regular room but no seating outside of bed and desk chair. All it did was add a long hallway in the room and have the tv really far from the bed. Staff was pleasant even if they couldn’t actually offer what was advertised on website. TV controls were like working on a remote from 1995. Didn’t have room service when I arrived. No notes about that on the website or at check in, when asked the front desk they tried to offset by saying they gave me an upgrade that i didn’t even ask for or like. Lol. Stains on furniture and ceiling. Guest fee on top of room charge for no reason. Said it includes $10/night for mini bar that was at front desk yet everything was over $10. Pool was ok, photos make it look way more glamorous than it is. Ugly cords on light fixtures. No silverware in room. Didn’t replace free water bottles on second day. No robe. Fridge had water in bottom of it and freezer was completely iced over. Called an hour ahead to have car pulled up from valet yet wasn’t there and had to get valet to pull it up when I arrived at front desk for check out. So no reason to even try to call ahead to get it ready even at $50/night. Won’t return for this price point.…
Excellent service from Ben, Adeana, and John. The staff was very nice and professional. Free bike rental, wine happy hours, and accommodated a late checkout for business purposes. First class all around.
Nice hotel, GREAT location. Staff friendly. Beds are NOT very comfortable. The TV entertainment systems is absolutely horrible. The pool is NOT as shown in the pictures. It’s, Small, lacking direct sunlight and terrible seating. Stay across the street at the Marriott where you know the quality will meet your standards.
Perfect location, safe, convenient, 30 min walk to Georgetown or 10 min drive but driving is a nightmare and parking even worse. Hotel room was very spacious and clean, beds very comfortable. Many options s for restaurants nearby. All staff were friendly and accommodating. Only Con is parking with the hotel is very expensive.
John and his entire front desk staff we pleasant and knowledgeable. Restaurant team also impressed us as well. The pool was a good atmosphere located outdoors on the 2nd floor. I would definitely come back to staff again. It’s located nearby all the great tours and nearby restaurants. Thanks Royal Sonesta Washington DC TEAM
My stay at Royal Sonesta DC was by far the most welcoming and comforting experience I’ve ever had. The staff was amazing and their customer service skills are unmatched! No matter the question or need they went above and beyond. Valet was very patient with me as I kept forgetting things in my car and they were very accommodating for my dog. I stayed in the Executive City View Studio with 2 queen beds. The room was huge, had beautiful interior, and that bed was pure heaven - If you aren’t ready to go to sleep do not lay down I promise you will not make it out that room! I was able to do some writing at their comfortable desk space that was able to fit all of my work equipment and my wine lol. The Royal Sonesta will definitely be my go to hotel every time I’m in DC. They were 15 mins away from Howard which was a bonus for me as it was freshman move in week. My only issue was that I couldn’t take a bubble bath due to the stopper not working.…
I wish staff told me initially about complimentary wine from 5-6pm everyday. The hotel was very accommodating. Gym is decent. Pool is okay. Great location. I would def come back again. Staff was friendly. There’s a guy that worked at night that has an array of card tricks.
