We have now stayed 2 times at this wonderful hotel. The staff are extremely courteous friendly and professional and the concierge is very knowledgable. We have a wheelchair bound daughter and the hotel caters for her perfectly The nice touch of early morning coffee and cookies downstairs with spectacular fresh flowers warms the entrance foyer. The room amenities are of...

We had our wedding at the Hay Adams in July of 2015. We are eternally grateful to the wonderful Hans Bruland and Whitney Vaillancourt for making our experience truly unforgettable. Our guests are still talking about it being the best wedding they have ever attended! From the stunning view, to the perfectly pressed napkins, to the chocolate white house waiting...

The Hay-Adams is deserving of the many rave reviews. The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. We did a quick weekend trip with my 7 year old daughters. Their favorite part were the Welcome chocolate chip cookies. Mom and Dads favorite part was everything else. The rooms are spacious, the location is great. My only wish is that we...

It has the best location, right in front of the White House and walking distance to many museums, monuments, shopping & restaurants. The service was excellent, the staff extremely pleasant and accommodating. We were upgraded to a suite which was wonderful and spacious. The bar downstairs also had excellent service and great atmosphere. Breakfast in the restaurant was light &...

Arrived in DC from NYC, quickly checked in and luggage brought to our room. However the room was not what we had booked but a quick phone call from Alex the doorman/bellman to the reception got us the room we had booked with a view of the North facade of the White House and the Washington Monument which was a...

We first visited the Hay Adams due to a change in Thanksgiving routines - we had two history buffs in the family and knew that this hotel's proximity to all of DC's attractions would be a bonus. What we didn't expect was how the intimate size of the property and level of distinctive service would render our visit to become...

My husband and I travel to DC several times each year. Several years ago, we booked accommodations at the Hay Adams. Since our first stay, we have had no need to consider any other hotel. I'm certain there may be lesser accommodations at lower prices in the city. I believe other hotels in the area have very similar rates. However,...

Stealing the Hotel's tagline is a little unfair......but what they say is true. An elegant old-fashioned hotel on the corner of 16th and H, overlooking the White House. The staff are exemplary - helpful, friendly but not obsequious. The rooms are quiet, luxurious and very comfortable. This is the only hotel in which I would stay in Washington.

This was our second, and much more disappointing stay. The rooms, even the least expensive, are still a significant financial commitment. But if you opt for one of those, as we did, be aware: No dresser. Two tiny drawers next to the mini bar. And the "inside view" is of dumpsters, and the office workers in the adjacent building (which...
