Stayed there twice now. We had a group and both times standing in the lobby waiting for rooms to be churned out. This took over an hour each time. Had called and double checked before arrival both times, to no avail. Breakfast is now a fast version buffet style with less offerings. It is expensive for minimalist offerings. Location is...

What a great historic hotel on Embassy Row. The Fairfax Hotel has all the noted features you might encounter as you check competitive hotels in the DuPont Circle area of Washington DC. I had called to let the front desk know that we would arrive very late and was advised that it would be noted. Upon arrival the checkin went...

This historic hotel is located on Embassy Row in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC. It is about a two-minute walk from the Metro and the bus. I was staying there because I was attending a ceremony at the Washington National Cathedral which was just a few bus stops away. There are restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but the hotel...

A very nice hotel in a very nice location. I didn't try the on-site restaurant, but I did enjoy a couple of nearby restaurants, and there are many nearby. Short walk to the Dupont Circle metro station. The only shortcoming was a non-functional ice-machine on my floor, but that was a very minor inconvenience. I'd definitely stay again.

There's a lot of history here, and everything you want to see is a 10 dollar or less ride away in an Uber. The bar and restaurant really feel like you stepped into history. Well, the rooms do, too...except the bathrooms, which are very modern. The staff was great, and everything was clean and taken care of for us. They're...

I stayed here on a business trip and enjoyed my stay. Comfortable bed, pleasant staff. The one thing I will share for others to know--if you use the stairs, you can only exit at the lobby door. I didn't want to use the elevator just to go two floors to the ice machine, but found myself trapped in the stairwell...

Lovely well appointed hotel in great location central to a lot of walkable sites if you can walk a few miles a day to get there & back. Restaurant far too pricey for basic buffet detracts from the otherwise 5 star review. At $400/night breakfast need not be another $48++. Lost another star for for parking fees that were not...

We stayed one night at the Fairfax to celebrate my birthday and pick up our visas. The Fairfax is an old world hotel. If you are looking for a fancy lobby with crowds of people, this hotel isn't for you. We had a large room that was extremely comfortable. The valet parking was prompt. The bar is just what I...

Clear, quiet and well staffed. Nice restaurant and bar. Sleeping rooms well appointed and HVAC system works well. Accessibility a bit difficult. Valet parking only. Neighborhood has many restaurants and shops. Expensive internet access.
