We had a disasterous few nights at another hotel and bolted to The Willard for our last two nights. It was so worth the aggravation of repacking and moving as we arrived and were so warmly welcomed. Siri, at the front desk, was so professional and polished, it was as though she had been waiting for us to arrive all week! This hotel is a gem, from a gorgeous lobby to the beautifully furnished rooms. The staff is unfailingly friendly and helpful. It was simply remarkable. The coffee was the only disappointment as I love a good cup of coffee, but it was awful.
The location does not get better. This hotel is located in the heart of DC, within walking distance to most attractions. The hotel itself is beautiful if a tad intimidating on arrival. However, the friendliness of the staff is incomparable. The attention to detail sells the stay. I will definitely return.
This is an historic hotel near the White House and Treasury Department. One of the staff told me that it is a frequent host to Heads of State and to Presidents. On the Inaugural Parade Route. We were there for a wedding. Crystal Room is really lovely for a wedding. The ballroom works very well as a wedding reception space. Plenty of room to dance and mingle. Staff is engaged. Food was far better than the usual hotel fare.
We enjoyed a very special anniversary night at The Willard Intercontinental. I’ve lived in Washington DC for more than 30 years, but like most natives have rarely taken a vacation in my home town. I’ve always been fascinated by the long and storied history of The Willard, but never experienced it first-hand. I booked a regular one bedroom suite for my husband and I to celebrate our fifth anniversary. The Willard Intercontinental is dog-friendly, so we brought our dog with us to celebrate. A couple of days before checking in, I discovered through the IHG app that we were being upgraded to the Abraham Lincoln Suite. I am Intercontinental Ambassador and IHG Platinum Elite, but this upgrade exceeded all expectations. We arrived at the hotel and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The suite was very well-appointed and huge! We brought our own champagne and ordered a room service dinner up to our suite. The food was delicious, and not as expensive as we were expecting. The fact that this suite had a formal dining room, and a small catering kitchen made dining in the suite very convenient. After dinner we took our dog out for a walk to the Washington Monument and the White House….both only a 5-10 minute walk away. Thanks to everyone at The Willard Intercontinental for making our fifth anniversary so magical. We really appreciate it.…
Okay I can see why J. Lo stays at this hotel. I chose this as a staycation due to the previous posts on here. As soon as I arrived at reception, Ramsey demonstrated the hotel's quality service by hooking it up with an upgrade to a junior suite. I was wearing a mask, but I know he saw my smile! The entire staff was very polite and accommodating. The food was SOOO good! After room service I ate even more (truffle mashed potatoes and risotto) at the Round Robin Bar. The only con was the spa was closed and I wasn't alerted to the fact earlier. I'd recommend scheduling a service beforehand. Also the fitness center is under renovation so I had to go next door. But not a big deal (and they have Peloton bikes and boxing speed bags so I got my Rocky on). On my way out I was thanked for my patronage. Smiles in and on the way out, thanks the Willard! I'll definitely be back at the bar for an Old Fashioned and truffle mashed potatoes! :)…
We loved our short stay in DC at The Willard. Super attentive staff, very clean, quiet and well run hotel with a lot of history. We were within walking distance to everything you’d want to do in downtown DC. We had breakfast at the hotel which was great but pricey. We really liked dinner at The Hamilton which was right next door.
Spent the night, because my daughter wanted to see the National mall and the White House. We took Amtrak up, checked in. The hotel is architecturally and well maintained. The staff on the other hand need to be a little more nicer to the guests. Upon checking they make you feel not like a customer but an annoyance. Beside the front desk staff, the place is phenomenal. We had a junior suite, it was comfortable, clean and very spacious. We had eaten dinner on the property, staff there was attentive, and food was good. The bar area is quaint, and the bar tenders are polite and friendly. All in all a good trip. Would stay again, but front desk need to think of the guests first.
We were here for a family vacation. We have stayed here several times before and have always loved it. The Hotel was wonderful. The room was so comfortable - great bed, lots of space, quiet and great bath. The Staff was very helpful. The location is so convenient to the mall and monuments. A wonderful start of many travels with our grandkids.
We just spent a wonderful weekend at The Willard celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary. This is a beautiful old hotel that is elegant and yet very modern. From the moment we checked in until we departed, we were delighted with the friendly reception that we received from every Willard employee. Always helpful and smiling the service was superb! Our 9th floor room had a panoramic view to the south and west across the WW I Monument on Pennsylvania Ave, the Ellipse and over the Washington Monument. The room was large and very comfortably appointed. If you are looking for a special place to stay in the heart of downtown Washington, The Willard is a great choice!
We spent a night at the Willard while doing business in DC and before heading up to Frederick to visit family. We had great service from check in to checkout- ate at the Cafe- and enjoyed the amazing location and lovely rooms. We will be back!
