Detailed Reviews
This was a quick stay for us but it fulfilled everything we needed. Easy access from parking lot to hotel. Courteous staff and satisfying although limited to-go breakfast. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the room temperature easily adjusted without any noise. The only drawback was we were located in the back of the property and on occasion we heard dogs from the next door animal shelter. This hotel is easily accessible to the freeway and nestled against the foothills. You can't go wrong here.

Needing an escape from my own place and the heat, I discovered this lovely brand new Marriott in Agoura Hills. They have a huge salt-water pool! I felt it was a safe place to stay with Marriott protocols in place. As always, the Marriott bed was so comfortable and I loved the decor of the hotel. The staff was bend-over-backyards accommodating, especially managers Wendy and Josh. I also appreciated that the stairs were wide and easily accessible which I used instead of the elevator. The area is great for hiking and biking. Just a short drive over the mountains and you are at Malibu Beaches. I'll be back.

Hotel is modern with nice rooms, public areas and large outside areas including pool and fire pit. Situated in Agoura Hills near Thousand Oaks with a lot to do locally and short drive to Malibu on the coast. Good collection of food options few minutes drive from hotel including great BBQ at Wood Ranch, nice pizza at Two Doughs Pizza and excellent breakfast / dinner at Sunrose California Eatery. Plenty of shopping opportunities locally also. Friendly staff. Good parking at the hotel for small charge of $10 per night. Nice bar area in hotel with excellent reds. If in the area again would consider staying here. Malibu has a nice beach but not much to see in the actual town. If there visit Adamson House Museum if only to wander around the small gardens and museum, and speak to the very friendly and knowledgeable lady in the gift shop. In Thousand Oaks go visit Gardens of the World - it is pretty small but lovely to wander around or have a quiet sit. The town of Santa Barbara is only an hour away by car from here and it is beautiful and well worth a visit.

I truly wanted to rave about my stay and I don’t like giving poor reviews but if I didn’t then I wouldn’t be doing a service to travelers. I was very disappointed with a few issues that occurred but I also have to say it’s a beautiful hotel. The bar and pool areas are great. The staff was very pleasant as well. The decor was beautiful and modern. My room was really nice too. My bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. One of my issues was where my room was situated at this hotel. I was in room that faced the animal shelter that was right next door. The dogs barking at 6:15am was beyond annoying. It goes on for hours. If you choose to stay at this Marriott make sure when you check in that you get a room on the other side of the hotel. My room was right above the electrical vehicle charging area and there was a door that people could go in and out. It banged so loud and hard my room shook. Lastly, you can easily hear people walking in room above. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels and this is common but it has to be said. I didn’t get much sleep and I even wore ear plugs which didn’t help. I want to add that a few of my family members also stayed at this Marriott because we were there for a wedding. We all were very unhappy about the dogs barking so it wasn’t just me. I did stop at the front desk on my way to the wedding and discussed my issues with a nice gal who stated she was aware of the noise the animal shelter makes and would see if she could move me but the hotel was booked. I told her when I got back from the wedding I would stop at the desk and see about moving. Unfortunately I didn’t get back until very late so I just went back to my room. Another night of limited sleep and it’s disappointing. I did receive a very nice email from Jeffrey Page who is the Front Desk Supervisor. He was sympathetic to my unhappiness and said he addressed my initial review with Management. If you choose to stay at this Courtyard Marriott, ask for a room that’s as far away from the animal shelter as possible! I love dogs! I own dogs! But I don’t want to hear them barking when I’m trying to sleep.

Dirty hotel practically on the freeway. Room dirty. Shower had dried gunk and hair from previous guest. Ewww. Dog hair all over chair. Urine puddles in elevator, presumably from a dog(s). Spider in the bed! Plus two spiders in bathroom. Staff unprofessional and gossipy about guests. Karl had a temper and expressed unhappiness in his job. Markesha was flat out rude a few times, and no follow through. For example, she said clean towels will be brought to room but it never happened. She said "Oh I got busy and forgot"in an unfriendly tone. Tv (and Internet) glitchy. Power went off a couple of times and lost a computer doc. Woken up very early in the morning by a guest sitting on floor in the hallway, yelling and swearing on his cellphone for a long time, and not wearing a Covid required mask. Seemed like mostly construction workers staying there, and hotel seemed very empty

There’s an animal shelter on one side of the hotel. Understandable but the dogs literally barked all night long.
Ask to be put on the side not facing the kennels.
A housekeeper came into my room the next day after she knocked and I shouted NO THANK YOU from the bed where I was totally naked. She propped the door open anyway and WALKED OFF.
Wouldn’t stay here again. Ever.

I had stayed here for one night when I got home and realized that I forgot my makeup pouch in the room. Unfortunately it took them a day to found a pouch, there were 10 items in the pouch and they were mostly brand new but it was returned to me only 5 old items and also I had to pay for shipping. I felt those returned items could have been contaminated and I don't feel safe to use them. I talked to the PM manager and he wont do anything to compromised the lost of my personal belonging. He clearly said that hotel will not responsible what left behind the room. However, why there were returned half of them so where were the rest go?? Good thing they were not anything valuable, memorable items. Sadly, I will not returned to this hotel and Marriott as a whole due to very bad customer service and unprofessional.

Hi Tracy, It is true that the hotel cannot assume responsibility for items left behind. We are always happy to ship any and all items we find back to a guest when they have forgotten something, but the guest does assume responsibility for those shipping charges (in this case $15).

We stayed here for 2 nights when we were visiting colleges in area. The front desk staff was very friendly. The hotel was very clean. While the breakfast options were limited - the fact that it was included was a nice bonus. The pool area was great and our 17 yr old son used the gym a couple of times. I would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area.

This hotel is lovely. It is in a great area - close to shopping and only about 20 minutes away from Zuma Beach. The little bistro is great. I highly recommend the avocado toast! The staff is wonderful, and very accommodating. The room is very comfortable.
We’re at not for a few key things I would have given it five stars.
Firstly, in the bathroom, the pipes make a pounding sound almost continuously.
Secondly, next-door to the hotel is an animal shelter, and the dogs barked and howled all night long.
Thirdly the walls are very very thin. The two nights we were here we could hear our neighbors talking into the wee hours of the morning. I am sure that they were just having a normal conversation, but we could hear it the entire time. It made it very difficult to sleep.

I had to stay here for a business trip and couldn’t be more happy with this place. Brand new hotel with all the amenities. Nice pool area and great meeting rooms. Staff is friendly. Highly recommend. Didn’t feel like I was at a Courtyard Marriott.
