This room had more room than you typically get in motels nowadays. Yes, it is dated but everything worked, it was clean and we had zero complaints. It's right behind the restaurant of the same name, good food. Oh yeah, the price was in the low 60's... beat that.

My father and I stayed at the Wagon Wheel Motel two days after a bad stay at the Best Western in Alturas. After staying at Best Western, dad stated that we weren't going to spend the night in Alturas anymore. Not wanting to take a different route on our next trip, I convinced dad to give this motel a try...

I am so incredibly impressed with this motel! The room is very clean and cozy and the bathroom has been remodeled recently. The water pressure in the shower is amazing! The owner has been very warm and accommodating. When I told her we would be in late she offered to leave the room open for us and let us pay...

The Wagon Wheel in Alturas only has a half dozen rooms, but they are comfortable, roomy, and clean. We had two queen beds and there was plenty of room around them for tables, a recliner, a small desk and a small closet. The rooms sit back from the highway about 150 feet, and are quiet. In front, along the highway...

The motel is very nice. The rooms are practically new and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The price was a very good value. The Wagon Wheel restaurant at the front of the property serves a tasty, traditional American menu.

Have stopped both on the way to and back from Burning Man. Nothing fancy, but nice, quiet, and clean rooms at a reasonable price. Convenient restaurant at front of property that has good food at reasonable price.

I know it sounds like an old song but you truly can’t judge a book by its cover. This Motel is a perfect example of this. To drive by the motel it looks like the standard terrible old place to stay. But they have completely remodeled the rooms. They are quiet clean and comfortable. Also the price I paid was...

I totally agree with the other reviewers: my one-night stay was very nice and also very expensive. Room was large, clean, and comfortable. I had dinner and breakfast at the adjoining restaurant, also inexpensive and good quality. No problems with noise, wireless worked fine, and staff was friendly. My dogs seemed welcome. Will stay there again this year on my...

"Are you sure about this?" I asked my husband as we pulled up along side this motel. We needed to stay over night in Alturas and in looking at Trip Advisor reviews had settled on Wagon Wheel. So, while Wagon Wheel would not get a four star rating from us were it in some larger town, in the context of...

I stayed one night here during a stop from Reno up into Oregon. It was clean, decent sized and had a coffee maker, microwave oven and a frig! The restaurant in front is related to the motel, and I also had breakfast there - good and inexpensive. I would not hesitate to stay again if there was a need. The...
