A bunch of friends hired one of their large family rooms, this was located on the lower level at the back of the lodge, adjacent to a quieter road, and right opposite the post office. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable, and perfect for friends on a short visit to Calaveras. Friendly staff, good value, would certainly go again.

We spent one night only, after driving from the Bay Area, and on our way to Bear Valley to ski. Arnold is a good spot if you cannot stay close to the ski slopes, and Timberline Lodge is the perfect spot. Our room was simple and spotless, the queen bed was very comfortable, the staff is professional and friendly, and...

I saw some decent reviews for this place and some GREAT pictures online and decided to stay the night in Arnold rather than drive home. Big mistake! The first class looking lobby and wonderful pictures are totally misleading (at least for the room we stayed in). The room reminded me of an older Tahoe cabin where you all chipped in...

Thanks for the compliments on our photos which were taken with my old Nikon, not professionally done, to show our rooms and how the Family Suite is laid out, just like your photos. With all the renovations we continue to do, we need some new photos added, but meanwhile if you have suggestions how to include two sinks, showers, and...

Big room with fridge and coffee brewer. Separate entrance from the outside. Very convenient for visiting Big Trees National Park or the Calaveras wineries in Murphys. Free parking available. Choice of restaurants within walking distance.

I was on an unscripted getaway & realized I was bumping up to the 4th of July weekend. I figured that if I didn't have reservations I'd be sleeping in the car. I tried to find some last minute reservations somewhere in the mountains. I lucked out with the Timberline Lodge, I wanted 4 nights, but because of my lack...

We stayed 2 nights in a small room. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom was clean. They give you a door hanger that says "Maid service requested" on one side, but they don't pay any attention. Parking on the side away from the highway is tight during the day while shoppers are in town. Each room has a small...

Basic accomodations for spur of the moment vacation trip to Calaveras State Park in Arnold Ca. Stayed 4 days and found our room to be very clean and quiet. Very good Italian restaurant (Sarafinas) within walking distance and very close to the Sequioas trees in the state park (about 3 miles).

We've stayed here two times within the last year and will be back for a third stay this summer. It has everything we need - comfortable bed, free internet, coffee maker, microwave, TV, refrigerator and most important, friendly courteous staff. We liked to make coffee in the morning then sit outside on the porch to enjoy the quiet morning. Snowshoe...

We needed a basic place to stay for one night following an event and did not want to deal with renting a cabin. There aren't a ton of choices in Arnold, but Timberline served this purpose really well, and we were actually surprised at how well it met our needs. The room was basic, but there were nice touches, like...

Needed a quick place to stay since crossing over the 4 was still closed due to snow. The innkeeper Coleen was very sweet. Showed the girl an I two options for rooms. We picked queen bed with fireplace. Toasty!! Very clean, neat rooms. Bed was comfortable. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
