This hotel is a cute little gem in Arroyo Grande! The team and the hotel are amazing.. At every turn the team goes out of their way to make sure everyone is enjoying their stay.. Love this place! Really close to the beach too...
I have stayed 100's of nights in Hilton properties and this is an above average Hampton Inn. Several things stood out for me. I at first had a room on the freeway side. It was very loud, so I went to the front desk to request another room and they were able to immediately accommodate me across the hall. Every staff person I encountered was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was pretty large, everything worked, the bed was comfortable and the room was dark at night when the blinds were down. Very important factors for me when traveling. There is still no hot breakfast, but that is true at most hotels. I would not recommend the breakfast they hand out, not great, a bagel and a hard boiled egg and yogurt. Adjacent to the hotel in the same parking lot is a Panera's and there are several really cool brew pubs and restaurants across the freeway. Compared to other hotels in the Pismo area on the weekend, this please is an absolute steal on price. Would definitely stay here again.…
For a mid-range hotel in a popular tourist area, the Hampton is a nice place in a good spot for exploring the area. For the price, it’s a fair deal and the complimentary breakfast is not too bad. It lacks variety but it at the staff does a great job of refreshing the food and keeping the area clean.
They just take away more and more. Unable to pick room on app with check in , no refrigerator, safe or coffee maker in room? ! Ready to give up my Hilton honors status and try other brands. It's been one thing after another here the last 3 visits have been disappointing
I love Pismo Beach but staying close to the beach is pretty unaffordable. This place is a great find. Close to the beach, lovely property and right off the 101. It's a quick 5 minute drive to Pismo. Highly recommend this property!
Better than a motel but not by much. The room was adequate, bathroom adequate, bed adequate, pillows mediocre, TV decent, view nice AC adequate, furnishings basic. Parking was easy as is access to freeway to which hotel is adjacent though adequately insulated from noice. Hot breakfast was edible, coffee mediocre.
There was a large group of trainers staying at the hotel for 9 days. We were there for the last 4 nights for family funeral. Each night our adjacent room guests were gathering in large groups, drinking and smoking weed in the hallways, being loud and having large parties in the rooms after quite hours until the early morning. Because they were guests of the hotel with a large training group their behavior was tolerated even though it was disturbing the rest of the hotel and people who were trying to sleep. It was like living with a bunch of college roommates on Spring break. They didnt care their behavior was disturbing people trying to sleep. The hotel staff appeared powerless to do anything about it. After some begging, with the hotel full, we were given another room in another part of the hotel away from the noise so we were able to get a few short hours of sleep before our flight home. We are Diamond members and have stayed at this hotel many times before; but after this experience will never be back and we will let others know to avoid this hotel too. We are appalled that this guest behavior was tolerated and accepted by hotel staff. Avoid this hotel if you plan to sleep at night!…
From the time I checked in to the time I checked out the team and the hotel was outstanding! The staff makes you feel like family Greta place! It's clear that the team understands the importance of customer service..
Hotel was decent. First room we checked into the toilet wouldn’t flush. Got moved to another room and it was ok. A little dirty but we were to tired to move again. Had our three kids with us and itt was ok I guess.
This is my second time writing this review, the first time was through Hilton's feedback email, but it looks like it didn't get posted for whatever reason. (This should tell you how my experience was since I'm willing to write this a second time.) Where to start? I booked a 7-night stay here for my partner and I while we were visiting family for Christmas. Knowing this is a Hampton Inn and having stayed at this location once before at the beginning of covid, I had a general idea of what to expect (aka expectations were pretty low). This Hilton location doesn't do the virtual room key, which then requires you to engage with the front desk when you first arrive. Not to say that this is a problem per se, but the first red flag was at check in when the room I had selected in the Hilton app when I checked in online the day before wasn't the room that I was given. I had chosen I believe 247, which from the map is the corner room that faces the ocean, so should have a partial ocean view with windows facing away from the partial freeway and is one floor below the lobby level. Instead I was given 237 (I think, its been a month now) which 100% faces the 101 freeway. The front desk person was kind enough to move me up to the room directly above it, 337, which still had a view of just the 101, but at least I didn't have to take the elevator every time we left or came back. Not only did this room not have the ocean view I had selected, and not only did I have a fantastic freeway view, but the windows were covered in bird poop. Not an exaggeration when I say covered, but there were mud nests in the corners of the window's alcoves outside which led to the birds to poop over both windows for the room. In addition to this, carpets were disgusting. Big stains in front of the couch, I don't even want to know. There was a layer of dust on the bottom shelf of the bathroom sink, which didn't get cleaned even after having the room cleaned once during our 7 night stay. The flat sheet on the bed had what I'm assuming was an iron burn on it, which was on all four corners of it. I'm assuming it was similar to how elementary students make snow flakes where you fold up the paper and cut it then unfold it to reveal the snowflake. Our flat sheet was basically that but a sheet instead of paper and iron burns instead of cut out pieces. The breakfast situation here was absolute anarchy. I'm not sure if it was just because the hotel was fully booked or what, but there were a lot of people in the lobby area at one time, with food constantly running out, and masks optional the whole time in such a crowded space. The only saving grace here was that they share a parking lot with Panera, where I got breakfast instead of the complimentary one at the hotel. Back to masks, signs everywhere that say they're required in common areas, but of course no one cares. You would frequently see staff also just doing a chin strap situation vs. wearing their mask or even covering their mouth at minimum with it. Lastly, our room got a call one night, which neither of us managed to pick up before it went to voicemail. The next day I realized there was a message and upon listening to it we were being called by the front desk and being told that there had been a few noise complaints by surrounding rooms and they pinned it down to being us. First of all, there was no room above or behind us because our room was on the end closest to Panera and had to room above it. Secondly, the only noise we could have been making was that the tv was on, which was set to maybe 15 out of 50. I just find it odd that the staff would have somehow pinned us for making too much noise without even coming to the room and standing by the door and listening or even follow up with us. The day before check out our flight had been cancelled due to weather/staffing shortages with the airline so we ended up having to stay an additional 2 nights because that's when we were able to book our next flight. We had such a bad experience here that we were willing to pack up our stuff and go through the trouble of moving hotels. We stayed our last 2 nights at the Hilton Garden Inn in Pismo Beach and it was night/day comparison. Room was so much better, hotel seemed cleaner, staff was friendly and appropriately wearing masks. Do yourself the favor and spend the extra $20-30/night to not stay at the Hampton Inn in Arroyo Grande.…
