The campsite itself was very small and if you do go you need to make sure to take a lot of blankets because it gets freezing at night. The pool was amazing and so was the hot tub but the water slides were closed so we were disappointed about that. Also the showers had really good pressure and if you are disabled they have chairs in there for you to sit on and our neighbors were very nice. I recommend taking an air mattress because there is no grass just dirt and rocks so it is very uncomfortable without one. Also, if you don't take the right amount of blankets you will be freezing my mom and I had to go sleep in our car because of the cold so I give this a 3 star the pool made up for the other bad so just make sure to bring the right supplies and you'll be fine.

I would give it a meh...for what they charge. Pool has a dirt ring, and many cracked spots in pavement. It needs painted on all exteriors, continuous cleaning. Put in fake grass on your tiny grassy area, cause it's a mess. Someone should be sweeping and montoring activity around pool, and restrooms. Gal working front desk was a sad sack, obviously didn't want to be there nor offered any info willingly or to upsell. Lots of cobwebs, and Rusty spots. Red more lifeguard stations and shade for lifeguards . Overall, kinda disappointed. I would of spent fifty at sycamore springs up the road for a private clean hot tub, than the 20 spent here.

I go from SLO for morning swim and hot springs soak when I travel el to SLO. Affordable $10 for half day ticket. The facility is aging and in need of renovation, but is in a great setting off Hwy 101 and just right for an affordable morning spa experience. Has cabins and camp sites which are austere and affordable.

Went to the Avila hot springs with wife and cousin. It’s kind of old and rundown. Make sure to bring your own towel. It was very enjoyable. The water was very hot. The pool was refreshing. It was a beautiful day.

What a grungy place! I am referring to the main swimming pool, the relatively small hot tub, and the changing rooms, not to the overnight accommodations. Frankly, if you just want to soak and then get out, towel off and go somewhere else for the rest of the day, this place is just fine. I talked to some people from Bakersfield who do just that on a regular basis, and they like it; they keep coming back. I have no opinion about any sleeping places because that is not what I was there for. It was $20 for the two of us, and the water was really magnificent. But everything else that I experienced was exceptionally tawdry.

We booked two nights thinking that the place looked rustic. In reality it is run down and neglected. We were disappointed as soon as we pulled up to the office and parked in the dusty parking lot. We went into the office and our first impression was reinforced by a dingy reception area that seemed to be in need of a good cleaning. We should have left at that point however we did book into one of the cabins for a potential two night stay. The cabins are just what seems to be a bunch of trailers in a dusty field. As soon as we opened the door there was a horrible stench, sort of a sickly sweet smell, sort of indescribable and nauseating. The furniture was run down and beaten up, the bed looked like something I'd never sleep in and there was an old school television on top of the refrigerator. The floors did not look clean and the furniture did not look like anything I'd want to sit on. The worst of it all, however, was the odor. At that point we were prepared to forfeit our two nights even though we thought that we would not get a refund. To the resort's credit, however, they did give us a full refund and they did not dispute the items that we found wrong. Their full refund is the only good thing I can say about this place I honestly would rather sleep in my car.

As a hot springs, this place is very rustic, or as my husband said, crusty. It was an interesting experience soaking with local working class people and a few tourists, but I wouldn't call it relaxing. As a campground, it is way too pricey for a small spot in a parking lot with sounds from 101 highway so close by. Basic needs were covered, and if it cost less, it would be okay. Be aware if you book a campsite, they only let you use the hot springs the night of your booking, not the following morning before you leave.

Stayed here for a long weekend get away and it was really peaceful. Had to book one of the larger accommodations at the top of the hill. Tried out the spa massage (great) free yoga (fun), nature walk (not long to the top, but you can walk for miles once you get to the top). Couple of places nearby to eat. Spent a lot of time time in the outside hot tub, discreetly hidden. Will definitely come back. Took awhile to check out. Otherwise everything was as one would expect of this amazing property.

This was a super fun spa experience. Spa is outdoors among trees. The water smells like chlorine. Staff was friendly, and accommodating. The gift shop was filled with fun trinkets. If I ever need a gift for anyone I will surely remember this place.

Campground right next to a road, very loud early in the morning. Tent campground way too expensive ($45/night) and bathrooms were very dirty. Overall the whole campground is not recommendable, we didn't enjoy the stay and left very early in the morning...
