A charming remnant of old florida with a grace and class about it enhanced by an attentive staff. . We are repeat visitors and plan to return. Nice walking community with shops and eateries. There is a friendly, but bossy cat that is really in charge.

I just got back from spending four days at the Gibson. What a wonderful time! I can hardly wait to go back next summer. The Inn is in excellent shape with a more-than friendly atmosphere. Everything was just charming. You'll enjoy Salem, the inn's cat.....What a sweetie! I just did not want to leave!

Spent two nights, very historic inn, great friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, great wrap around porch, great bar and restaurant on premises, within walking distance of stores, parks and other attractions..

This was our second visit to the Gibson Inn. We were greeted warmly by Cynthia who assigned us to a corner room on the second floor, a fairly spacious room. This is a typical old historic Inn so we expected to see somewhat dated furnishings, but this only adds to the charm. I enjoyed the verandah with all the rocking...

Built in 1906, a beautifully restored, 2 story Victorian hotel! Completely surrounded by upper and lower porches filled with chairs, rockers and swings. The people, and the property exude old southern charm and hospitality. Reasonably priced and centrally located.Great place for a little R&R. Worth going out of your way for

Tired after a long day of travel we were thrilled to find this unique hotel. Beautifully restored to its 1907 splendor, this hotel offered a variety of housing opportunities. Unsure of what type of room we would like, Kimberly offered to show us several of the rooms to help us make the decision. We chose the king suite and which...

If you enjoy staying in old inns, the Gibson Inn is a good stop. It is both clean and friendly. My disappointment was in the lounge in the evening. Guests should not be subjected to F-bombs in this type of setting. We stayed for three nights. After dinner we went to the lounge and on each night there was someone...

Good location and staff very friendly and helpful. But the upkeep is poor (at least in room 315) and the room needs repairs and some investment. The fixtures are of lowish quality, not just old, and I'd suggest a few things could be changed to bring the nice 'old world ambience' up to the standards of a modern hotel.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Gibson Inn is a fine example of Florida "Cracker" Architecture. This was the style of wood frame structure used widely in the 19th and early 20th century in Florida. These homes and businesses are characterized by metal roofs, raised floors, high ceilings, center hallways, and large wrap around porches. A widows walk and cupola crown the tin roof, all a reflection of the area's steamboat past. Built in 1907 of native heart pine and black cypress, the inn soon became known as a first class luxury hotel and was the only one between Pensacola and Jacksonville heated entirely by steam. Now listed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. Many of the 30 guest rooms are uniquely appointed with authentic antique furnishings, cable TV, telephone, and wireless internet. Each guest room has its own full private bath. ... more   less
