What is Certificate of Excellence?
TripAdvisor gives a Certificate of Excellence to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit with a partial Ocean View. It was a great space for the 5 of us. It was very handy having the small bar/restaurant on site.
Terri was very helpful in arranging a golf cart and flights...More
My girlfriends and I stayed at WSC for a reunion and we had the times of our life! Not only was the staff friendly and accommodating, but the rooms and premises were better than what we could imagine. The rooms were cleaned everyday when we...More
Well furnished condos with fully equipped kitchens. The free bikes were so much fun and made it so easy to get around. If staying in San Pedro, do visit the Truck Stop - great way to spend an evening there, with movies and food.
My husband and I just returned from Ambergris Caye, Belize. We stayed at White Sands Cove Resort. The resort is small, comfortable, friendly, clean.
The staff is amazing, very helpful and friendly.

Incredible staff, warm & informative. Perfect location to be away from the hustle & bustle- the boutique style resort is ideal for privacy. Town is a 10-min golf cart away & we were able to explore the whole island as well! Best spot in San...More

You can rent golf carts for how ever long that you're staying at different places in town for different costs. I rented one at White Sands as I wanted and just ran around to Secret Beach, to check out some of the island, downtown to go to the shops, went to grocery/you name it stores. The one that is on the right hand side before you get to the bridge going back into town has a lot of stuff. You can also walk along the trail that goes along the beach up and down to different restaurants and checked out other beach houses and hotels. When you pay at the bridge you just keep the paper they give you and show it to them when you're going back through, the price is for round trip. And, look out for the red curb on the side of the street when you park, because if you park there it's supposed to be a 75$ Belize fine, and lock it up everywhere you go. Once you get there and see how it is with all the golf carts, it gets really crazy with all of them and I'd feel better going at least there in one instead of a bike. The cost at White Sand is by the hour or day so you can figure out what you're doing and go from there. Either bike or walk on the North side of the island or going South into town get a golf cart. The only cars/trucks are taxi's, people lucky enough to have a car there and the rest are golf carts. Instead of a shop to soup up your car they have ones there for golf carts and there a some crazy looking golf carts. It's the way of life down there and I have never driven one so I had to get used to it and it was fun running around and checking out the island. They only thing that I can say is they need adopt a highway deal going on to clean it up in spots. It's a growing new place to stay with places that need some TLC to new construction and everything else in between. A new experience with a lot of great people who live and work there.

Yes you can, however when we stayed the hotel sent a taxi to the airport to pick us up. It was included when we booked (not a separate fee, or added transfer). I remember something about it on their website. When we landed at the airport and told them our hotel they notified the taxi, we did have to pay for transport on our way back to the airport at the end of our trip.

Hi Cori,
Here at White Sands Cove we have a Sea wall that protects us from surges caused by either storms or hurricane. The best place for swimming is at the end of the piers.
On Ambergris Caye, the entire coastline is lined by white coral sand beaches. The shallow water right off the beach is a montage of sea grass beds and patches of sandy areas. It’s important to keep in mind that sea grass beds are very important fish nurseries and they are responsible for the diversity and abundance of fishes you see when fishing our flats, diving and snorkeling Belize’s Barrier Reef!
Keep in mind that aside from the patches of sea grass beds, the beaches are white, the coconut trees are green and the crystal clear water shimmers in the sunlight with continuous hues of blue, green and turquoise waters.
There is a secret beach on the island that you can take the kids to swim from the beach :)
