If you are looking for a charming island style hotel stay away from this one. This place is a real Chinese feeling hotel but to be fair I didn't find it bad at all. The room is fine, comfortable bed, TV and fridge working, no problems. And have very good wifi signal in the room on the second floor (writing...

Hotels like the China Town Hotel are often the swankiest accommodation in provincial towns in China and Southeast Asia, with marble tiles on the walls and floor, flashes of brass, and dark, air-conned rooms with big beds and a couple of condoms among the complimentary toiletries. That approach doesn't work very well in Caye Caulker. There’s no island vibe to...

I had stayed there before, in the previous year, and there were some renovations going on. It was not terrible and the only thing I did not like from it then was the weak wifi. Since my colleague and I had to return to the island for work I suggested it because of the price and location. This time I...

Was booked into a massive room (maybe free upgrade as we were in off season, was on second floor in new building) with good aircon and fridge. Room was clean and hot water. Nice roof terrace to chill and watch the sunset. Pool seem a bit dirty so did not use. Location not the best for beach but not big...

After reading some of the other reviews, I was not looking forward to my stay at China Town Hotel (was here as part of a tour, so not my decision). But it was fine, in a mediocre sort of way. Yes, I had one of those rooms with a panoramic view of a storeroom, which was slightly weird. But the...

Typical island hotel. Price is ok compared to other accommodations on the island. Rooms were small and had a hard time using a/c remote because display was almost unreadable. Staff are friendly and they have free Wi-Fi for guests. It is in the middle of the island so no beach/ocean view form hotel.

The hotel location is beside a market, which makes life much easier if you need a drink or a snack. The hotel also has a Chinese restaurant, although the food was not the best I’ve had in the region. The pool was “to be cleaned” when I entered the hotel, and every day we chased and asked about the pool,...

Rooms are comfy, beds are good, AC is amazing. Rooms have a small fridge which is nice. Bathrooms are pretty poor - shower just works, little to no water pressure or even flow of water. Pool was filthy and did not get much better after "cleaning".

The rooms are quite good, AC is included in the price and works well. The bathrooms are clean, quite small and the water is unreliable. The beds are enormous and very comfortable. The pool was filthy but was cleaned on request. The service is not amazing and when one of our group members tripped on the stairs and was sprawled...
