We had an amazing time at Glover's Reef---glamping was very fun and staff was absolutely wonderful and eager to please. Unfortunately, the weather was not conducive to really appreciating the natural beauty of the Atoll. I know you can't control the weather, and the staff did all they could to keep us entertained with a walking tour of the island,... More

In February, our family travelled to Belize for a 10 day vacation. We chose Island Expedition’s Ultimate Adventure. We were looking for something that involved a variety of activities while getting a sampling of the culture, history, food and natural features of this beautiful little country. This trip exceeded our expectations in every respect! The staff at the head office... More

Prior to joining the Island Expeditions/REI tour my adult daughter and I enjoyed some independent travel in Belize; Mayan ruins/history and jungle delights. We also over nighted at MayflowerNP/Bocawina (managed by IE) near Dangriga on our way home. The Biltmore at Belize City was reported to us as satisfactory for an overnight stay, but we enjoyed our personal hike to... More

This review is actually a hybrid. My family and I stayed at Glover's Reef Basecamp as a part of an REI "adventure" tour this spring. It's not clear to me how much of the day-to-day operation of the basecamp was REI's responsibility, but there was another non-REI party there, and they had the same facilities and meals as we did,... We started off with a night tour of Belize Zoo, interesting, loved seeing the all the cats from Agotes to Pumas, the cave tour the next day was chesty and basically would appear to be a time filler, the reef though was beyond my expectations. The best snrkeling site ever, kayak sup and snorkelled everyday. The food amazing, I traveled... More

Be prepared for minimal amenities. Very small tents with no private baths or lighting. Toilets and only cold showers in a common building about 75 yds from tents. All of our group of 7 suffered severe bug bites the first day so apply your insect repellent as soon as you step off the boat. The guides were excellent and the... More

My wife and I stayed at Glovers Reef for 3 days and then rented a sea kayak and went on a self guided and self outfitted kayak expedition. We enjoyed our time at Glovers and experienced some wonderful activities and wonderful staff. Once we were done with the Glovers Reef portion of our trip we were dropped off at Tobacco... More

If you truly love water, sand, seclusion, and sun without hotel like amenities, this is the place to go. Glover's Reef is beautiful and Island Expeditions (Mike, Budge, Cappy, and Addy) did a superb job of leading our group (Adventures in Good Company). The guides are exceptionally knowledgeable and want to share that information with you about the land, water,... More

My wife and I just returned from a fabulous trip to Belize with Island Expeditions. It was our first trip to Belize and we wanted to experience both land and water. Upon landing at the international airport in Belize City, we flew 15 minutes south to Dangriga where we were met by an Island Expeditions staff member who drove us... More

We were booked to stay at Glovers Reef Atoll for 3 days. We arrived at the dock in Dangriga with high winds and rain blowing sideways. We were a little surprised to see that our boat did not have a roof and that we were to make the trip out to the Atoll in the current weather! We were soaking... More

Dear Rose - so sorry the experience did not meet your expectations. Our field reports concur that the weather was truly horrible during your days at Glover's. Being in a remote location 40 miles out to sea, it can happen when the weather has the upper hand - in this case two days of unseasonably torrential rain and high winds.... More
