We bookedd this trip for our family of 4. Good friends of ours decited to join us for a total of 8. On every vacation we taken I have had to watch my kids (12 and 14) like a hawk. Eddie's island is amazing, small, and totally safe. I felt comfortable letting all 4 of the kids run around on...

I came here with my family for a week and I would go again in a heartbeat. Not only is the island gorgeous, Ms Gen's cooking is delicious and the diving was amazing. We all finished our PADI certifications on site and had great experiences. Eddie and Mora were great dive instructors and we all, my parents, my sisters (including...

My husband and I chose Isla Marisol as the site for our belated honeymoon based on its TripAdvisor reviews and for its highly touted scuba diving (my husband has been certified for years, whereas I got certified mere days before we departed for Belize). It was definitely more remote than we -- okay, just I -- expected, but that turned...

Isla Marisol Resort in Belize is a beautiful private island. The setting can not be beat. Surrounded by gorgeous water, sea life, and tropical plants, this is a vacation you will never forget. Willis and Judy are the most welcoming and accommodating hosts and do everything to ensure your stay is the very best. Miss Gen's food is absolutely wonderful...

Divers not required to show dive certifications, just say you are. No briefing on boat orientation, location of safety equipment, buddy system, safety stops, no oxygen on board. Dive instructor rode a large turtle on 1st dive, horrible. Dive staff does not carry safety sausages or signaling equipment. On several dives, motors left in gear and props spinning while divers...

This is a fantastic place in so many ways. Absolutely beautiful, remote, rustic, and some great diving. And a very relaxed approach to everything! However, the relaxed approach doesn't work so well for diving... Although I enjoyed the resort, I feel compelled to let divers know about potential safety issues. The week I was there two divers and dive master...

We're happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at Isla Marisol and that you appreciated the remoteness and rustic character of the resort! Thousands of safe and spectacular dives have been logged at Isla Marisol over the years and safety is always a top priority. We have spoken with our team of Dive Masters and restated all safety policies, including...

I was very pleased with everything. It is amazing that you can have so many comforts on such a small island 40 miles off the coast. That being said you have to expect that everything is not perfect. The sliding doors stick a bit as do the windows. Ice is a luxury in place like this and although no ice buckets...

It was our pleasure to host you and your friend at Isla Marisol Resort. Thank you for bringing back "food fish" for dinner in the restaurant! It is true, our bartenders always have ice, bonefish in our flats are sometimes spooked, and our food is very good (with advance notice the cooks can accommodate vegan and gluten-free diets). We appreciate...

This was supposed to be the bit of luxury in the middle our trip between weeks worth of backpacking in cheap hostels for me and my partner. We paid just short of £400 per night for what was advertised to be a 5-star resort. This was undoubtedly the worst 4 nights of our holiday; I am not over-reacting or setting...

The place itself is really beautiful, the accommodation is very nice. unfortunately that's where the nicities end. FOOD We were really unimpressed with the food, we had emailed beforehand to check they could handle gluten free, and we were assured they could. it transpires gluten free is the same meal with all gluten containing items removed. if this wasn't bad...

After a well arranged pickup and boat transfer we arrived at this beautiful place. Beautiful island in the middle of nowhere - a great place to enjoy part of our honeymoon. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Isla Marisol Resort lies on a pristine, secluded palm-studded island on Glover's Reef Atoll (a UN World Heritage site) in Belize. Of the five inhabited island on Glover's Reef, Isla Marisol is the only one offering private en-suite bathrooms, fresh water showers, hot and cold water, air conditioning, and daily housekeeping service. Isla Marisol Resort also offers frosty cold libations at our infamous "over the water" bar and phenomenal Belizean style food in our dining room. Incredible watersports are just a stone's throw from the resort, with most diving and snorkeling sites just 5-15 minutes from the island. All ages and experience welcome! Anglers can hit the "grand-slam" from their front porch, with World class fly fishing for tarpon, permit, and bonefish, quite literally at our door step. Daily deep sea fishing trips for Wahoo, Kingfish, Marlin, and a host of other fun fish, depart from Isla Marisol daily. ... more   less
