Our time at Caves Branch Lodge was remarkable and we are already dreaming of a time to return! The location was the perfect blend of remote and convenient -- remote in the jungle, feeling private and far from civilization, but actually a short drive to Belmopan and easy distance to both Belize City and San Ignacio. The whole property is beautifully landscaped and equipped with conveniences to make the stay feel special. We were in a riverview treehouse and it was amazing -- so spacious for our family, with a gorgeous view and all the amenities we needed, and the outdoor shower was the highlight of our trip! All of the food was delicious and the drinks were wonderful as well. We were only there for 3 nights, and it wasn't nearly enough -- we never did get time to enjoy the pool or the botanical garden. We did two tours (the Mayan ruins and the cave tubing) and both were experiences of a lifetime, with fantastic tour guides who provided wonderful service and expertise. One afternoon we were lucky to be there for the cheese tasting, and it was a fascinating story and delicious cheese. We were very impressed with covid protocols as well. We had rented a car for the trip, and although it worked well for us, there wasn't much of a need so we would probably use the shuttle next time. Thanks to all of the staff for a wonderful stay! My family of 4 (with our two college-age kids) loved every minute of our time at this amazing place!

You've probably seen the 1,000+ 5-star reviews of Caves Branch. My review is what they said. I doubt I can capture it better. Simply put, this is the best vacation I've ever had. MY wife and I stayed 7 nights and split our time between doing the adventures and just enjoying the property. It is absolutely stunning. The pictures uploaded by others and even its own website can't do it justice. It is so vibrant, lush, and peaceful on the property (which, BTW is 58,000 acres) it is like living the "welcome to Jurassic Park" scene. I suppose that makes the owner, Ian Anderson, who still lives on site, like the John Hammond of the place. If I could add one thing to the glowing reviews on here it would be this: the magic of Caves Branch is in its staff and guests. It is small and its staff are so professional and friendly that you can't help but get to know them. We shared pictures of our kids, talked hobbies, events of the day and just the usual things you chat about with friends over drinks. And this is carried through to the guests, too. Even with respecting the COVID-19 restrictions we still thoroughly enjoyed getting to know and spending time with the other guests. We met traveling Belizians, Brits, fellow Americans, and even a couple from Newfoundland! It says something about the atmosphere of Caves Branch that so many employees have been with it since it was just a small backpacking camp. The vast majority we talked to have been there over 10 years with Pedro, our night hike guide, celebrating 21 years at Caves Branch! So many thanks to Geo, Rafael, Hector, Carlos, Arnold, Wilmer, Ismael, Kyle, Christian, Pedro, Ian, and Claribel (ask her about her start in cheese making BTW) for giving us the trip of a lifetime.

This place surpassed all expectations. From the moment we arrived, Gio made sure that we were well taken care of and found us a wonderful room, and then helped us up the (many many) stairs to the fabulous, amazing, incredible treehouses. Wow. What a stunning room & experience staying amongst the trees, howler monkeys, and canopy of the jungle. BOOK THE CANOPY TREEHOUSE!! It was magical, and so lovely to fall asleep with the sounds of nature around us. The outdoor shower is to die for. Rafael & Hector were our main servers throughout our stay and always made sure we had everything we needed, they made up lots of colorful and delicious drinks as well as making sure we always had super quick service for meals. Leo was our server for only one day but we had a great time chatting with him and really made us feel warm and welcome! Claribel was also always there to make sure we were never without our next course or without anything we needed, and I was impressed that she was one of the on-site cheese makers as well! They have great cheese here, and don’t miss the cheese tasting as it’s so impressive that everything is done on-site. Wilmer took us on our cave excursion and he was a fun, upbeat, super informative host for our group and we all learned a lot while having a great time floating down the caves in our tubes. He had such a great personality, and was an expert and has been hosting these tours for many years. The lunch in cave by candle light was a pretty cool extra too! Now, I was so disappointed that the 7 mile tubing was not offered during our stay bc we could not find others to do it with us over the 3 days (it requires 4 people) but the cave river combo was a good backup. This is my only complaint of the resort as I had picked this place after reading about the 7 mile tour but ultimately could not do it. And you can’t pre book as tours are decided at dinner the night before each day. It was a really big bummer……but the room, staff, and service made up for it in the long run. Pool area was beautiful, and all of the grounds/gardens/walkways to rooms were lush and green and made it a great experience. We saw lots of birds and a few monkeys near the restaurant. I am a runner and found it easy to take jogs in the morning up and down the driveway & hummingbird highway since it’s flat. We also loved that we could walk to Inland Blue Hole & St Herman’s cave, both right down the street! And only $5 to get in, for both areas, well worth a visit. While this was my 3rd trip to Belize it was first time to caves branch and I will definitely be telling friends to come here when they visit the country. Great location here, vs the resorts that I’ve stayed in that are past San Ignacio. We met Ian a few times throughout stay and it was so refreshing to see the owner was SO involved and inquisitive about the guest experience, even after being established for so many years. He seems to still roll up his sleeves and keep a pulse on everything. Hence why the place is so well kept! Can’t wait to come back again to see the wonderful grounds, tours, our super-host Gio, and all of the rest of the crew!

We stayed at Caves Branch over Christmas, and had a wonderful time. Every detail was taken care of, from pickup at the airport to daily adventures, meals, and transport to the water taxi for the next leg of our trip. They even will send someone to your room to remove any critters (we had several wolf spiders!). The staff were fabulous, especially the adventure guides. We were lucky enough to have Pablo, who we loved, for two of our adventures (River/Cave tubing and the Black Hole drop) and also got to spend a full and wonderful day with Arnold who was generous enough to take us to explore Mayan ruins in his own truck. Juan and Justo took us on the Waterfall hike and lead us on a hike like none other (make sure you do this one!!!). The guides are full of information, are so fun and encouraging and kind, and we felt 100% safe in their hands. I thought I would be scared in the caves, but I wasn’t at all. I had quite a few adrenaline moments (rappelling, jumping off waterfalls etc) and am so proud of of our family for doing all the challenges that we came across. Caves Branch did a great job with covid safety as well - lots of hand washing stations, everyone masked when appropriate, and temperature checks before each outing. We felt very comfortable. If you are reasonably physically fit, and have a spirit for adventure, I cannot recommend Caves Branch enough. Perfect for couples and families with older kids and teens! Thank you Caves Branch!!!!!

2021 has been a challenge and a weekend get away was a must do to bring in the new year. As a customer service personnel and a great one at that, it's not very often you get to see and experience impeccable customer service, but at Ian Anderson's Cave Branch Adventure Co & Jungle Lodge I got just that and more. Excited on the bus ride to get here we got lost and with one call we were saved by Ismael, I love you song collection buddy. Arrived at the receptionist desk and Lisa was a doll, she made sure we got the full 411 for our stay. Claribel, you were putting in those extra hours gurl I appreciate you stopping everytime you saw us to check in. Pedro and Jesus I loved the tour and thanks for pushing me to make those jumps I need more friends like you guys. Everyone helped made our get away one to always remember, my goal for the new year was to hit it with a bang and you all made it a great start. Until we meet again, Anya and Neisha
