We have stayed at this guesthouse twice now and really recommend it. It is clean, tidy and peaceful as well as being really near the centre of town. There is free coffee and water and use of the kitchen, living room and porch. All in all, very relaxing place.

The staff was super accommodating. They took in a whole lot of us with very little notice because we were fleeing from hurricane Earl. They made sure we were set with water and flash lights. Had emergency prep materials in place. You wouldn't have even known there was a hurricane except the power went out in the whole town in... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfect, walking distance to everything, shops, food, bus stop, ruins and the soccer field. We felt extremely safe here, the front gate was locked at all times but they give you a key for it so you feel happy to leave all your things in your room. They have a great... More

This "guesthouse" is a series of rooms atop the Western Hardware Store. It sounds more "grungy" than it is but it works fine. This is not a hostel. The eight rooms all have private bathrooms/ showers, A/C and are very clean. There is a communal kitchen, if you need to fix yourself a meal, coffee is available in the morning... More

The AC, kitchen, and morning coffee were wonderful. And the hosts were very informative, kind, and accommodating! If you can share a room, the cost is similar to that in nearby hostels but has so much more to offer. We heard from one hostel-goer that he only sleeps from about 2-4 AM because it's so hot other times of night.... More

We have been traveling frequently to San Ignacio and have found Western Guest House to be our home away from home. The rooms are clean, with Air Conditioner, free wifi, full bathroom and just enough to go and sleep. The staff are really nice and they also have a full kitchen in case you want to cook something for you... More

After visiting three nearby hostels, we chose to stay here. Yvette and her son are both very friendly and I enjoyed conversing with Yvette over the three days/two nights. The building is well kept and clean, spacious, and the rooms are nice too. Our beds were comfy, showers full pressure and hot, and the kitchen is nicer than any house... More

Pacz Tours recommended Western Guesthouse. It was by far better than I expected. The room was exceptional. Good bed, clean, roomy, nice bath area. The kitchen was available and clean. Free coffee every morning. It is located on Burn's so was close to everything you would want. It was quiet for sleeping. There was a swing on the front porch... More

“We had a room at the back of the building away from the street. I'm not sure if that was necessary regarding noise as the guesthouse wasn't in a busy part of town. The AC worked well and there was also a free standing fan to circulate the cool air.”
