This place is a really good starting point for excursions. From here it's just a 5 minute drive to Cahal Pech and downtown San Ignacio. Perfect place to visit other temples and Tikal. Everything was clean and they have a lot to offer. We had a fridge in our room, tv, nice big shower. The only thing that wasn't good are the beds. The matras is really soft and doesn't offer a lot of support to your back. We are used to sleeping on a very firm mattrass. Other than that we had a very nice stay! The pool is great and they offer a lot of affordable good food and cocktails. Free wifi is offered at the poolside. The staff was super friendly! Would definitely recommend this place.

You stay in these cozy bungalows with a hammoc on the porch, there’s a restaurant with very good food, a big swimmingpool and the staff is super helpful and nice, especially Michael! He helped us with all sorts of things and questions, and was very attentive. Definitely would recomend and hopefully will be able to go back some day!

Sheila and I visited The Log Cab-Inn for one week in 2011--even then I wanted to stay longer, much longer, but they were booked solid more than a year in advance; and although we have traveled many miles before and since--usually in much more expensive and pretentious accommodations--when I close my eyes to sleep, even today I dream of our little mahogany cabin in San Ignacio, of the wonderful meals we enjoyed there, of the wonderful people who cared for us and who entertained us and who arranged our travel for us as we visited the Maya sites I came again to Belize to photograph. To wake each morning to the unforgettably beautiful songs of the tropical jungle birds, to step out our door to the blue-sky morning and swim before our delicious breakfast prepared by chef Edna Mae Hope and served by Armencia Campos--was to start each exciting day as if in a dream come true. Log Cab-Inn tour guide Richard Zul took us safely and comfortably to the relatively hazardous sites of Caracol, where he climbed to the third-tier summit of Caana with me (with collateral visits to the Rio On Pools and the notorious Rio Frio Cave) and remote El Pilar, where Richard Zul arranged for a policeman to accompany our party. I am old now and I seriously doubt that I will ever again be able to visit The Log Cab-Inn again--except in my dreams--but it is the only place I would prefer to my own home, and I wish that everyone could enjoy what we enjoyed so gratefully for one precious week in 2011!

This garden log cab inn is super quaint and quiet. Our room is spacious. TV and chair to sit outside. Clean with hair dryer and private bath..The cabins are located quite away from each other providing privacy and quiet. The place is lush green and is a bit far out from town but you can order a taxi which is $5 BZD per Person.. the local restaurant is awesome Laritos... serves super delish meals and cocktails ..we loved the Spanish rice and shrimp ajillo.. it is located at a very small elevation in case some elderly want to walk up .. the pool is gorgeous 3 tiered right next to the restaurant .. we also ate breakfast here super tasty get the huevos pico.. SI is generally a backpackers town so this place provides a good contrast I will highly recommend !!

Really great property just outside of downtown San Ignacio, on the way to Xunantunich ruins (7-8 minutes drive) and Guatemala border. Beautiful grounds, great 3-level swimming pool, large private cabins, very friendly and helpful staff. But some were inadequately trained for service in the restaurant, food orders were often incorrect and cool or slightly warm at best, served whenever ready, before drinks, no setups, salt & pepper, etc. Arriving first evening to outdoor pool restaurant we found empty tables unbussed, chairs all over the place, staff sitting around, used service items by pool, like they hadn’t really opened for service yet. But it stayed like that for the 2 1/2 hours we dined. Long wait for breakfast the next morning in an otherwise empty restaurant, couldn’t get cooked whites on fried eggs for 3 tries. Still the servers tried hard and were very helpful with excursion ideas, details, fun, just wonderful people. Big cabins could fit more than just a fridge & coffeemaker. Microwave would be great. Maybe that’s extra. Price very reasonable in shoulder season including A/C, ceiling fan, hammock on porch, WiFi. Beautiful and quiet despite minor daytime disturbance from big construction project next lot over. This was an excellent find - we’d definitely recommend and stay again.
