Amazing staff and hospitality while we stayed at Sweet Songs. Cruz was one of the staff there and created a wonderful atmosphere for my sister and I, especially on my birthday. Props to everyone at Sweet Songs for making us feel so welcome. It made the trip much better than expected.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed 4 nights at the lodge end of February beginning of March and our stay has been perfect from the beginning to the end. The lodge is in the heart of the jungle. We can hear all bunch of animals all day. We saw many different birds all over the property. In the morning, the staff gives fruits to the birds and we saw so many toucans and other kind of birds. The staff at the lodge is exceptional and very friendly. The food is delicious, but a bit pricey. It's very nice to be able to use the canoe for free. The private beach is perfect to hang out. The only negative point is the road to get to the hotel. It didn;t bother us because we had a 4 WD but it can be a struggle if you don't rent a 4WD, especially if it rains.

We recently returned from spending 6 nights at SSJL and had an amazing time. The rooms are gorgeous (we stayed in 3 different ones: The premier tree house, queen casita and treehouse). The queen casita was obviously the oldest of the rooms, but it was still very nice, clean and spacious. Our favorite room was actually the original treehouse which had a large living space and also an upper deck with a catamaran net hammock which was really cool, so you were literally up in the canopy. There was AC in all of the rooms, but only the treehouses have internet. We didn’t miss it much when it wasn’t available. It is very clear that they take pride in their accommodations from the small details in both the rooms and the grounds- the rooms were decorated with small flowers on the towels and beds, glass water containers were available for each traveler, there is a small army of staff who tend to the grounds daily ect. All the staff are so welcoming and made us feel right at home- Catherine and Abdiel at the front desk run the show seamlessly! To arrange our tours, we simply had to request the days we’d like to do something and they’d set it up from there. I rolled my ankle one day and Catherine was observant and asked if I wanted to reschedule my tour for the following day as it was a 6 mile walk (which I did, and that was also just as easy). The tour guides are also friendly, very knowledgeable and able to tailor to certain requests, such as finding a local tortilla maker when we were craving warm flour tortillas  We came with a few tours already set up, but our plans changed a bit with the weather and my ankle and the flexibility wasn’t an issue. We had two days there were we had nothing planned but to just enjoy the amenities there which was definitely a good move- the tubes, pool and trails are great, as is the botanical garden that’s right next door. Otherwise we did the ATM cave, walked to Xunantunich and took the canoe into the market on Saturday. The ATM cave is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done and highly recommend it. We had the all-inclusive package which I would recommend as well. Not having to count pennies over another round of drinks or getting dessert during vacation made things a lot less stressful. It’s also a 20-minute drive to the nearest paved road so unless you bring snacks in I’m not sure how else one would get meals. And frankly I think doing that would be a mistake because the food is incredible, always fresh and good portions with a lot of different options including vegetarian. Alfredo, Nair, Rita and Enrique are the best- always friendly and available to help out, but never overbearing. They’re also very knowledgeable about the local wildlife which comes in handy as you definitely see a lot of different animals up at the tree house bar and around the grounds. Besides the aforementioned, what really stuck out to me about our stay was the attention to each guest that Sweet Songs provides. When we wanted to change our tours with little to no notice, they were more than accommodating. Getting drinks or food at the pool was a breeze. We bought juice in town one day and brought it back and Alfredo made us cocktails of his own creation (which were incredible!). We changed rooms three times during our stay and each time they were happy to relocate our belongings and take care of the transition. Because of our departing flight time we needed to leave the hotel at 4AM and Catherine told us she’d be there to check us out then- didn’t even ask if we wanted to check out our last night (which of course we did to save her the early morning wakeup just for us!). They were also able to set up on site Covid tests to return to the US, and all we had to do was ask. Whether you like to be active and explore on your vacation, sit by the pool and relax, or a little bit of both, this place is for you. I highly recommend it and look forward to staying there again if I make it back to Belize!

We just returned from a week long trip to Belize. Our stay at Sweet Songs was the highlight of our trip. At first, we thought it was a bit rustic but then we quickly realized we had everything we needed. Our kids didn't miss a tv one bit. We enjoyed watching the toucans every morning eat fruit provided by the waiters as we ate breakfast. We loved our horseback ride to meet Jorge, who does slate carvings and pretty embroidery, and to see the Xunatunich ruins. Definitely ask for Carlos who gives a great tour of the ruins. He also took us cave tubing which was a blast. We wish we had had more time to enjoy the pool, river and Botanical Garden. We ran out of time. We enjoyed the three course dinners each night at Sweet and the excellent cocktails. The conch fritters were amazing. The staff was so friendly. Our four-member family stayed in a two bedroom casita. It was fine for us. I think if we came back, we would try to get one of the tree houses. They were not available when we booked. Definitely check out Sweet Songs for a relaxing, fun trip to the Jungle.

Sweet Songs Jungle Lodge is a true Belizean gem! From the minute I arrived on property, the staff was so welcoming and attentive to all my needs. They really went above and beyond to ensure my stay on property was an enjoyable and memorable one. Highly recommend one of their newer Treehouse Lodges as it provides you with breathtaking views and ability to soak in that true jungle lodge experience. Their infinity pool is a wonderful new addition to the property. A great place to cool off on a hot day or simply enjoy a nice morning read on one of their lounge chairs while listening to the sounds of the jungle around you. A special shoutout to Liz who was always there to answer any questions I had in regards to the property or activities to do around the area. If it's your first time to Belize as it was mine, I highly recommend a few nights at SSJL. The entire staff on property will make sure you enjoy your stay from arrival until departure.
