I am not sure where the negative review stayed but we stayed at a great resort which felt isolated in the forest. Food fabulous and the service outstanding, excursions wonderful. Our cabana very unique, clean, just great! But you are in a forest not in a condo, so u are living with the forest. Negatives were occasional loss of water,...

Where do I begin?? We spent our Thanksgiving vacation in Belize. First at duPlooy's, then in San Padro...while San Padro was fun, duPlooy's spoiled us! The property is amazing! It is hard to believe it use to be stripped farm land. Every tree, plant, building, sidewalk and trail are perfectly placed. It feels like it was built with a lot...

Glad you had a great time at duPlooy's. We like this area because there is so much to do and particularly like it when people take enough time to enjoy their surroundings and do some of the activities available onsite. You can get so busy enjoying all of the nearby adventures that sometimes people forget that you could spend a...

We loved our stay with Duplooys Jungle Lodge. The resort is located in the heart of the jungle - everywhere you look is a beautiful paradise. It is a family run, ecofriendly resort. The grounds are well groomed and the staff is friendly and warm. From the moment you step off the plane, they take care of everything for you...

We stayed at this "resort" and I use the term "resort" loosely following a week on an Aggressor dive boat. If you are looking for primitive - this is your place! The beds are short, you do not have a private bathroom, there are no hair dryers, no tvs, no wifi (although they claim to have it - I never...

Hello, I'm sorry that you were disappointed with duPlooy's and glad that most of the people who visit us are more than satisfied with their stay and service. We have at no time advertised that we are anything but a remote eco-lodge and are very clear in all of our information that we do not have TV's or Hair Dryers...

We had a fantastic time at DuPlooys in the middle of the jungle. The incredibly knowledgeable, helpful & friendly staff made this by far the easiest and most fun trip we have had in a third-world country. My teenagers rated the trips to the ATM and Tikal as the most amazing experiences in their lives. We are a family of...

Thanks for your review. Belize's Cayo District is THE place to be in Belize. Sooo much to do in the area that we have "make sure you stay long enough" as our motto. Activities suitable for everyone make it great for families And, as mentioned, great people, not just at duPlooy's, but throughout the area. The ones who are on...

After first staying at DuPloys about 20 years ago my family was able to return again in Dec. of 2013. It was even better than I remember. We stayed on the "create your own package" and loved every bit of it: the food, accommodations, birds, tours, gardens, activities, etc. However probably the best part was Fermin and the staff and...

Thanks so much for your review - and for returning. I know that the vegetation here has changed in the past 20 years. The first time you came, when we had only been opened for 5 years, all of our trees and shrubbery were very small compared to now. It's amazing how much growth there can be in such a...

DuPlooy's Jungle Lodge was a wonderful place to stay. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable. The shower was amazing! The garden was amazing and the observation/lookout deck was a treat. The lodge was a great after being a bit disappointed with other lodgings in Belize.

Thanks for your positive comments. After 25 years in Belize I still appreciate the beauty of it all. And it continues to improve as there is more and more habitat for birds and animals. I hope you got to experience the stars from the lookout tower. Up there on a clear night with no obstructions, you feel as though you...

Cayo district has a wealth of tourist options, including caves, Mayan ruins, and natural resource explorations. Some lodging is very far off; others are in the village hubs. DuPlooys was a good intermediate for our trip. Not too far from the paved highway, but also far enough removed to have jungle, gardens, and overall more space. Rooms were comfortable, but...

We spent 7 nights at DuPlooy’s in early November. As pretty much everyone else has commented, this is a great destination. Thanks for your positive review and also the random notes. We can't solve the difficulties for people with mobility issues outside the property, but to help with that here, we will be adding a couple of golf carts soon to at least allow people to visit the gardens.
