Over all it is an OK hotel, my friend and I spent 2 nights there, it was clean, enough space and the over all appearance was good; however, what really bothered me were the following: 1. The bed are too small, i cant even call that a double bed, we slept together and we are a bit tall and little more than average size in body bt that bed could barely even accommodate one of us, 2. using the bathroom was frustrating for the sewerage wouldn't flush easily, don't know what the hell was wrong with that i avoided the toilet as much as possible, 3: they have a pool, which i thought was great it looked clean and refreshing so we made our way to swim, a bit later a bunch of people came along, u can tell they were not guests and it seemed as they had come along way on a dusty road looking sweaty and dirty they went straight into the pool and their body odor wasn't pleasing at all, and more and more people started coming after that which made me very uncomfortable. the pool was small for that large amount of people...4. we decided to gt out the pool and go relax in the hummocks we saw under a shed 'Palapa,' but by the time we went up stairs showered and put on some clothes and walk back down stairs, the hommocks were removed, we were very disappointed.5. the staff was friendly but not that informative as possible for we were not adviced that after 9 no breakfast was served so on my experience at the hotel i can say it was ok but not worth the price we paid!!!!!

Firstly, the photos on their website have nothing to do with this place. Better look at the photos posted here by members. This hotel is mostly a pink concrete block with no charm.
The service for us was not quite was it has been for other reviewers. Possibly because we had the weekend staff.
It is also misleading because they are supposed to serve breakfast (for an additional charge). We had book the tour to Lamanai at 9am so we went downstairs for breakfast at 8h. Asked the guy where breakfast was served to be told that they do not have breakfast any more. They are doing some remodelling. Asking where in town we can find breakfast, his answer was totally useless "today is Sunday so it is hard to find breakfast". So, that wasn't very helpful.
The room itself was plain but ok. No water pressure in the shower and the wifi signal did not reach our area (we were facing the pool). AC did not shoot cold air. It was actually warmer in the room than outside.
We book the tour to Lamanai through them at BEL110 per person. She said that we would be picked up at 9am and return at 3pm. I was a bit surprised thinking we would return only at 4pm. Actually, we were back at around 2pm. Had we known that we could have taken a flight out of Orange Walk instead of spending an extra night (especially on a Sunday when every place is closed). What seems to have happened is that we were with a group that just flew in and out to go to Lamanai. so the guide was continuously rushing us as some people had to make their 2pm flight.
We did not use the pool and did not see anybody using it. It looks ok except that it is surrounded by a concrete wall with barb wire.
There must be something better in this town.

Definitely don't recommend staying here. We chose this hotel because it was the only one in orange walk with a pool and our 5 year old had to have a pool. It looks nothing like the pictures online. The pool was nasty. I was afraid my child would get sick swimming in it. Rooms were not anything we expected either. The staff-not friendly. It was actually 2007 when we went.

we book a room over at the hotel room 23 and they gave us the remote for the ac and when we wanted to start the ac they told us it is not programed to the ac so i the security/ front desk gave us room 27 so as we entered we saw alot of dead insects and roches so i really did not know if they clean the rooms but that room was a mess so i clean which i should not do it but i still did it and i said i was going to tell the from desk about there room but i prefer to write it on tripadvisor the hotel is nice the only bad part of it is that the management is very poor they do not check there room often so that is what made that room so horrible and bad and once that is not good the hotel is not good also

I feel like I stayed in a different hotel than the one in the reviews here. From the outside the hotel looks ok despite being in a less Than appealing looking area.

Pluses: The rooms are clean, there is a pool, and you have wifi access.

Minuses: the bathroom is a few steps up which makes it slightly dangerous to brush your teeth as you can easily fall ( always on my mind while I was standing at the sink) and the bathroom wall doesn't go all the way to the roof so there is no privacy. The wifi does not work in the room so you need to hang out in the lobby.

I never got to keep because the rooms next to me had a party until 2 with an encore at 5. The staff at the hotel did nothing to stop this. I could not report it as I am a female traveling alone and it was a large group of drunk males. Not a good idea to alert them to my presence. That being said the walls are thin.

The rate is 75 Belize dollars for AC, 50 without. There Is much better value in town.

My wife and I have just returned from a stay in Orange Walk, Belize where we spend four splendid days wandering the town, seeing its sites and meeting the locals. We made the D*Victoria Hotel our base. A great hotel within a short walk from the bus station right in the center of town. The hotel is very reasonably priced with great staff. Our cozy room had a very comfortable double bed, private bath, ceiling fan, A/C, flat screen cable tv and a small fridge. The hotel has a large wrap around balcony, our room was located on the north side and overlooked the pool area. In the afternoon it was very shaded a real sweet spot to enjoy a cold beer or soda that could be purchased from the front desk. WiFi was also available but on the south side of the balcony only just because of the signal strength. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others, they have 31 rooms of varying configurations available and the hotel motto "At D*Victoria Hotel you are always #1" at is a real fact !

Do not under ANY circumstances believe the photos on any site advertising this stink-hole. They're highly misleading. The place is a pig sty. I stupidly handed over the cash before viewing my room. It stunk! And the pool! It was empty of water, bar a few inches of black, smelly, scummy, litter strewn, fluid (I dread to think what it was). I tried to get my money back but was refused, depite a whole hour's worth of wrangling. This place is a disgusting, dirty, smelly, crumbling DUMP and the staff treated me the worst of any in my whole 3 month journey through Central America. I left in tears! Just DISGUSTING!

In addition to the above, they also tried to sell me a Lamanai River Tour to the Lmanai Ruins for well above the real prices offered by the tour operators. Con merchants to boot!!!

Avoid at all costs and head to the Lamanai Riverside Retreat instead. It's down by the river and hard to find, but worth the effort. The staff were amazing (mostly family of the warm, cheerful and friendly owner). My lovely cabana seemed like paradise on earth compared to the hideousness of D* Victoria Hotel.

The staff was unbelievably rude and inconsiderate. No hot water for 3 showers. We would go ask and the response was yes sir it is working just let the water run. After the 3rd time we insisted on a new room that we had to move ourselves too. This time there was hot water but only enough for one person!

There was mold growing on the walls of our room See pictures. You've got to be kidding.

There was suppose to be a continental breakfast after we asked they brought out bread and peanut butter.

I asked for a partial refund for the first night since nothing worked but the bed and the staff all but laughed. The sad part is I gave them the opportunity to correct the issue. Instead of helping us they almost ran from us. So to the owner and management, due to your lack of concern, your rudeness and the arrogance in which you handled our concerns. Not only have you lost yet another customer you have lost over 300 people coming to the area to work at the schools. So congratulations on your no refund policy.

The airline booked and paid for the hotel for about 30 people due to the storm. This is about an hour from the Belize airport. The hotel accommodated everyone and were ready when the bus arrived. The staff was very nice. They also had food catered in for everyone arriving. The rooms are dated but had air conditioning and cable TV. Our room was clean with a double bed. Very friendly staff. They had wifi in the lobby and breakfast area. There are a lot of chickens and dogs that will keep you entertained through out the evening with their barking and crowing.
