This was my breakfast one morning. The brown sauce in the middle is a bean sauce for dipping tortillas. The coffee was good.

I highly recommend visiting hotel de la funente once your passing through orange walk town. There is this guy Duaney the front desk/ night security. Very nice individual, me and my girl friend was in town on business, this guy literally went out of his way to make us feel comfortable, secure and at home. Very entertaining fella, nice ways, and very outspoken. Great experience, great place🙂

The hotel is located one a back street of a small town so it is a quiet area except for the barking dogs which flair up occasionally. We stayed in 2 rooms. A premium room and a junior suite. Both had comfortable beds and good showers and were clean. The bed in the premium room was against the wall on one side making vit awkward to get in and out of bed. The suite was roomy with a four poster bed but again one side of the bed was close to the wall making it difficult to get by the posyet there was plenty of room to move it away. There was a couch and recliner in the sitting area and a small kitchen. The furniture looked well used. TheThe staff were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is either a small buffet or you choose from several selections. Coffee and tea is self serve. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and there are only a couple of restaurants nearby. We chose to get some street food from the vendors near the park. They own another property by the river. The setting there is very nice and they have a bar and restaurant. I don't know what the rooms are like.

Minimal but nice! Make sure to request a room away from the front—the street is very noisy all night. Bring a hair dryer, if that’s something you need.
The staff is second to none. They are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great! They had coffee and tea around the clock.
Highly recommend if you’re in Orange Walk.

I previously stayed at this hotel in June 2024 for a business trip and was impressed by the exceptional service, cleanliness, and hospitality. With that positive experience in mind, I was happy to return for an overnight stay on October 17. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing.

I was assigned Room 300, which, while clean, is in need of some maintenance. The security lock had been removed and not replaced, which was unsettling as the room is accessible from the stairs that lead directly to the street. This creates a potential security concern, especially since it’s the route other guests use to access rooms 301-305 after hours.

If you're looking for a peaceful night's sleep, I wouldn’t recommend Room 300. Throughout the night, several guests passed by, many of whom were loud and intoxicated. The room's location makes it difficult to avoid disturbances from other guests coming and going.

The bathroom also requires attention. The mirror is broken, with a sharp, exposed edge, which is hazardous. Additionally, the space between the bathroom wall and the toilet is so tight that it’s challenging to move comfortably, especially for larger individuals.

Recommendations:
1. Consider room placement more thoughtfully—guests on business trips who need a quiet night’s sleep should not be placed in high-traffic areas, or soundproofing measures should be taken.
2. Address the maintenance issues in Room 300, particularly the broken mirror and missing security latch.
3. While the bathroom’s limited space may be difficult to change, be mindful of assigning rooms with such tight spaces to guests who might need more room.

Despite the lack of sleep, I want to commend the staff for their attentive hospitality, and the breakfast burritos were excellent. I hope this feedback will help improve your services moving forward.

The hotel is located on the Main Street, which, contrary to the name, is a quiet street. We stayed two nights in the newer part of the hotel, which is perpendicular to the older part. You won't be bothered by traffic noise at all. Excellent rooms, although on the small side because the bed was against the side wall on one side. Good breakfast, with a number of options to choose from. Good to know if you come by bus from Mexico/Belize City that the bus station is not in the center, but a bit outside near a cemetery. The hotel could not be booked via the major reservation sites. It is good to know that the hotel responds very quickly to requests that you email directly. Excellent service. The hotel also arranges tours to Lamanai. With a total of 7 people in a boat, with Coconut Pete as guide, it was an educational and fun day.

The hotel and their sister lodge have the most helpful and friendliest staff in the world. They went out of their way to arrange for transfers to and from Orange Walk, the boat trip to Lamani and a personal birding guide (George) for two days. They really tried and succeeded in meeting our every need!

We had a large group with a tour and the staff did everything to make us feel welcome and at home. We were happy with the accommodations and enjoyed our 2 night stay. Definitely check out Maria’s coffee a few blocks away if you stay here. I gave 4 stars due to the beds being pretty hard to sleep on and dog noise near by during the day and night.

We stayed in early April when we did a 2 week trip to Belize (fam of 4 with 2 young boys). Had a fabulous time. Incredible hospitality, warm and friendly staff, best breakfast we had, and helped organize our amazing tour of Lamanai. Would highly recommend- best stay of entire trip.

Please note that myself and my group did not stay at this hotel, so I cannot rate accommodations... We did, however, visit the restaurant (Cocina La Malinche) located within for two breakfast visits!!! Great food, large portions, friendly staff... My only complaint is that the kitchen seems only able to focus on preparing one or two plates of food at a time, so wait time was extensive... Some of us would be thru eating our meal before others were even served... Would still visit again; they offer a great value!!! :)

We went through hurricane earl here! The hotel is very nice, our room was small but very clean and had everything we needed. It was a complicated stay but the hotel staff did everything at their power to make us feel safe and confortable. They were absolutely flawless!

Hurricane Earl has come and gone and left a trail of destruction. Thankfully we were not as affected as other parts of the country. Your pleasant attitude made a difficult situation more palatable. I hope you were able to enjoy the rest of your travels.

Another Traveler here ... Organge Walk is a traditional, sorta off the tourest path, kinda Belieze town. Hotel de La Fuente is by far the best stay in Organge Walk and the owners/managers are really nice and personable. Willing to send some pictures from our stay Sept. 9,10,11. this year. Have you been to Belize, especially inland and north before?
