Stayed in a large room, attached to the lodge. It was very clean, comfortable; and allowed us to experience the sights and sounds, nestled in the jungle. The grounds were beautiful and well kept - and trails throughout the jungle area led to a swimming...More
Driving down to Punta Gorda is a wonderful way to see southern Belize. My annual trip to attend the Sustainable Harvest International Fair in PG always gives me an opportunity to visit a new hotel. This year twelve of us chose the Tranquility Lodge. It...More
We stayed in a Casita (one of the palm thatched huts) and I can't stress how great this room was. The room was really large and well laid out, excellent shower and modern bathroom, great furnishings and really tastefully done decor, very simple and relaxing....More

I'm not sure if Lee checks TripAdvisor for comments, but my wife and I were guests at Tranquility Lodge last June (2014), so I can at least tell you what we did . . . There are some trails right on the property, as well as swimming (though the rains had made the creek/swimming hole muddy when we were there). We went to the Mayan sites of Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit one day, with a stop at Coleman's Restaurant, all of which I can recommend. We also went to the Mayan site of Uxbenka, which isn't as well excavated/developed, and was part of a trip that I don't think is normally available. You can also go to a local chocolate factory. We ran out of time to do that, so can't comment on what it's like. But it's chocolate, so how bad could it be?
We were supposed to go kayaking on one of the local rivers, but a big rainstorm prevented that (which is why we went to Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit). There are a couple of kayaking options in the area.
