The wonderfully peaceful courtyard, filled with flowers, birds and fountains is a welcome respite from the clamor of the market outside. Be sure to get your tickets for the bathroom! The Sunday buffet is extensive and amazing...

Large buffet with great selection of salads, starches and meat dishes. Most are comeda typica of Guatemala but a gringo would find enough to be very happy. Like most food here, not highly spiced but there is salsa to add if desired. Very popular with tour groups. Sit outside if there is room, enjoy the marimba players and the colonial...

This hotel is lovely - a very welcome oasis in the maelstrom which is Chichicastenango on market day. Staff are very pleasant and very helpful. Our room (10) was huge and very clean with a stiff but comfortable king bed, plentiful hot water and a nice fireplace stocked with wood and kindling. This took the edge off the evening chill....

My husband and I have lead a mission team to Chichi each year since 2008. We have brought groups of 20-40 members. Staying one to two weeks each year, we would not think of staying anywhere but here! The ambiance, history of the culture, courtyard, tubs of calla lilies, huge rooms all go together to make this such a memorable...

Best ambiance, courtyard beyond imagination. Parrots very cool...Rooms large but old. Do not get any rooms on the outside walls near street. Can be very noisy all night. Bathrooms, tiny cheap towels and very 1960's needing remodel desperately. If you get the breakfast included in your package make sure it is on your receipt for All days.'' or you will...

Santo Tomas is in a beautiful, monastery-like setting. Right in the Center of Chichi and close to the market. They'll make a fire in your room during the cold nights and it's truly a pleasant experience. Attentive staff. So why only three stars? Because they charge extremely high prices for what you get. While the room is cute, it's pretty...

I wish I was going back this week! I loved staying here while working with Salud y Paz mission. I cannot imagine feeling safer or more serene than I did among the faith icons and tile stairways of this hotel. The restaurant was delicious and provided a wide variety of foods. They were able to accommodate several dietary needs in...

Had some tacos, cheap but not good. All groups of tourist make a stop at this hotel/restaurant to show the inner garden and also to send tourists to the toilets (paying a fee). The one and only option and it is quite ok. There are beautiful parrots in the garden.

Santo Tomas is a must-see in Chichicastenango, even if you don't stay in the hotel. The front gardens are lush and beautiful, filled with exotic birds. The reception area sells nice gifts and exchanges dollars for quetzales at a fair rate. I also like the restaurant - service is very good there, and they have delicious sandwiches.(I recommend you avoid...

We did not stay at the hotel but did eat at the restaurant. We had their buffet which was a bit pricey for the area (150Q) however it had an outstanding array of food choices. All of the food choices were delicious. You can order off a menu as well. We ate next to the courtyard - the setting was...
