Quetzalroo is a great budget option for anyone staying or even just flying into Guatemala City. I have stayed in both private rooms and dorms and rooms are consistently clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are also always clean and you can get a hot shower. Quetzalroo also has the most reliable Internet access of any place I have stayed in...

A great place to stay if you are interested in seeing the best of Guatemala City. Manuel and William are super friendly and helpful and will help you know exactly how to spend your time in this (sometimes overwhelming) city, and make sure you are having a great time. They will tell you exactly how to travel around the country,...

I loved staying here. William and the rest of the staff were very nice, helpful, and professional. I would stay here again no question, hands down. The walking tour for $5 is totally worth it and you get to see the real Guatemala City. Not the touristy side. The facilities are clean and the breakfast is good and home-made.

The best thing about this hostel was the staff. We only stayed for 2 nights but would have stayed longer if it werent for my flight. Marcos was incredible, he was very knowledgable of Guatemalan history and the City sights, which made our experience in the city much more pleasant than we had originally thought. We met a lot of...

Reliable, safe, secure, friendly, chill, close to the airport and Letegua bus station. They speak excellent english and really go out of the way for you. Kind of a younger crowd when I was there but it quieted down by 11 and I got the good night of sleep that I needed even in the dorm area. Free shuttles make...

The hostel itself is pretty standard but the host, Marcos is extremely helpful, knowledgeable and fun. He took a group of us out to the market and to a great coffee shop in Guatemala and drove us around. I would definitely recommend this place to others who want to get good advice on to-dos in Guat city! Minus 1 star...

Very well run hostel! Don't expect just to rock up here... it isn't really signposted out the front (on purpose apparently) and you would be crazy not to take advantage of the free pick up! At least then you know you will arrive safely (Guatemala City is a pretty dodgy place...) They had a BBQ the night we were there...

Only stayed the one night but after a pretty rough day of travelling it was nice take refuge in such a friendly and secure hostel. I would recommend any traveller passing through Guatemala City to let the guys at Quetzalroo take care of you. It will save you a lot of stuffing around and leave you with a good impression...

I don’t typically write Internet reviews, however my experience at Quetzalroo has so far surpassed any expectations I had for a hostel that I wanted to share my experience. I’m currently traveling by motorcycle from the U.S. through Latin America. I’m currently more than 10,000 miles and almost three months from home and I have stayed in a variety of...

2 Girlfriends and I arrived in Guatemala City on 12/21/2012 and made Quetzalroo our base camp in Guatemala because of the impeccable service we received. Marcos was helpful from the moment we arrived. He laid out all there was to do in ALL of Guatemala (not just Guatemala City). He drew a map of Guatemala, showed us videos, & was...

“Rooms upstairs do not get wifi, that's the only bummer, if you have a private room that is likely the case. All the shared rooms have wifi so no worries there.”

“The private rooms aren't that private - you can hear everything from the dorm and vice versa. There's no internet on the lower floor - not sure about the rooms on the same level as reception.”
