I've been travelling to Guatemala for almost 20 years and this place wins the prize for my worst experience. It was over priced, noisy and under construction. There was no way to turn on the cold water in the shower and we had to ask for a wrench. The bathroom was so small that you could not close the door...

We decided to stay at this hotel as it came recommended to us. But this hotel was dirty, the beds were old and uncomfortable. Sheets were dirty and didn't fit the mattresses. We had to call and ask for towels and hand soap as it wasn't provided in the rooms. The hot water only worked sometimes. A loud party in...

Work starts at 6am. until dark. Very expensive, and not maintained very well. Ants a cockroaches are common. No hot water in bathroom. Not the worst place I'm sure, but for the price I would expect more. Wifi is turned off at night, and some floors don't have wifi at all

We had booked a trip to Lago de Atitlan and this hotel was included. The staff is friendly (only speak Spanish). But our room was dirty and badly maintained. The bathroom was disgusting so we didn't took a shower. The toilet was leaking badly and the water went into the room. If you touch the sink it almost came loose....

The room we had was large overlooking the main street Santender. However, when we came to take shower in evening we found there was no hot water. I didn't find out why they didn't have hot water. i just found another hotel in the morning. The floor in the room was not clean. Although the hotel has wifi, we couldn't...

We arrived in Panajachel without a reservation and not in a hurry, so we were able to tranquilly look at our options. It was the low season, and many places were offering lowered prices and we chose Chaparral with the offered rate of about the 1/3 the price in the high season. Because the hotel was normally above our allotted...

We came on a shuttle from Antigua and arrived in Pana without a reservation. We asked the shuttle driver for a recommendation and he brought us directly to the Chaparral, assuring us that the Mayan family that ran the hotel were nice, respectable people. Indeed, the three beautiful daughters were a bit reserved but very polite and helpful. Our beds...

The hotel is a bit noisy. Seems like the rooms amplify and echo all the sounds from outside nd from nearby rooms. And our hot water lasted for only one shower. It's aggravating when you pay for a place with hat showers and then have to take a cold shower. But hey, it's clean and seems safe. OK, for the...

This place was beautiful, with stunning architecture, colorful rooms, a lush interior courtyard with a flowering garden and hanging plants, and a sweet balcony for sitting and enjoying it all. However, Panajachel has a very noisy nightlife that continues well into the wee hours of the morning, and this hotel is right on the main street. The rooms that have...

We took a weekend trip to the lake and chose this hotel because it received decent reviews and the price was cheap. When calling to make the reservation we were told the hotel offered hot water, cable television, and free wifi. I did not have high expectations, considering the room was only 180Q a night, but two nights in this...
