My wife and I stayed here for about 30 days and we loved being serviced by Clara (Clarita) & Elias. Both were amazing Restaurant waiters. All the staff is great but them two stood the most to my wife and I. Loved the Hotel & Amenities! Highly recommend!
Really bad customer service, I don’t recommend anyone to come to this hotel.. prices are over expensive for a service that is not worth it.. I pay $150.00 for a dinner reservation and when they brought me the check is was only $52.00 and when I went to ask for the rest of money back they say they couldn’t do anything.. supervisor RUTH NAGERA is not helpful at all..
There’s so much potential here and unfortunately, the management has failed to meet it. Let’s start with the basics. People inevitably plan to sleep when they stay in a hotel. If the bed is por quality and uncomfortable, the rest of the accommodations fade in the background. I stay in hotels approximately 100 days a year. By far, this place has the most uncomfortable bed EVER. There’s no WiFI. How can a hotel nowadays not have internet? That’s a deal breaker for me too. Finally, the price, in comparison to nearby places is high in my opinion, even if the bed were better and if there was internet. The restaurant was good, a bit overpriced. The pool and other amenities looked nice but I didn’t try them out. I’ve stayed at six other hotels in Panajachel and now, my curiosity about the obnoxious olive green and turquoise monolithic towers by the lake has been quenched. I won’t be back.…
First, there is a difference between staying at the”hotel” and renting an apartment here. If you rent an apartment you are not allowed to use the kayaks, pool table, or ping pong. You cannot even pay to rent these items. Staff treats apartment guests awfully, constantly watching for infractions. You cannot drink your own beverages except in you room or on the “beach”. Now to the pool and Jacuzzis. Oh my goodness! They are so dirty. Not only is the water cloudy but there is visible dirt and hair in the water. The pool also has sun screen and debris in it. The problem is the children who run from the dirt beach to the jacuzzis and jump in with their shoes on. Impossible to keep the water clean really. Just gross. Totally gross.
Never been treated so poorly by the entire staff of a hotel before in all of our years of travel. Excluded us from using everything from the pool table at the restaurant where we were paying to eat, to the kayaks where we were paying to stay with a view of them from our deck (we even offered to pay extra to rent them and answer was firm NO), also kicked out the trampoline when it was only my husband and I sitting in it while watching our 2 year old daughter walk around in it. There was no one else staying here, the place was empty so it wasn't an issue of space or availability.... our sweet daughter was so sad and disappointed. So incredibly rude!!!! It's a wonder it hasn't closed down. Epic Fail !!!! What a waste of a beautiful spot.
The grounds were neat and very well kept and the room had an incomparable view of the lake. The staff was courteous but had to say (by hotel policy) I was not a "hotel guest". I stayed in what seems to be an apartment (in their building) owned privately and consequently, was not allowed to use the kayaks or even pay a fee to use them. The front desk young lady, who was very kind with her words, literally said that by company policy these were for hotel guests only. I certainly understand the that I was not directly giving the hotel business by booking a privately owned apartment but there should be a different way of handling little matters like these. We even chose to to have breakfast the nest day because it felt as we were going to be treated differently with all the service. The place was private, quiet, just as we were looking for and although the room was great, had a stable wifi connection and a spectacular panoramic view of the lake, I will certainly consider a return.…
Very bad experience, no AC on the rooms, neither Wi Fi In the rooms, very expensive for the things you get. You can not make calls inside the room, no shampoo in the bath. To make a reservation is so complicate, first because the hotel doesn’t have a 1 800 number to make the reservation, you can’t make the reservation online, you have to call and transfer some money to an account that they give you. At the time of check out they charge me one towel because my wife left some of her hair color on it, and they said it is not posible to take it off, even know we have done it in our home. Bad way of handling things.
With very large rooms and an exceptional view ,this is one of my favorite hotel in Guatemala .You can take a boat to reach directly small villages from the hotel. One thing important if you have a diner in Panajachel beware that reception is closed during the night ! Free Wifi is limited to some aeras
I brought a group of 40 people to this hotel. They charged $5000 for our rooms for one night and meals. A number of people in our group, including myself must eat gluten free. They obviously do not take that seriously. One cook told us a dish was gluten free and another was not. Then another cook told us the exact opposite. When we inquired further, they could couldn't agree. Then we were told that we could order something else from the menu and pay for it, that is after our $5000 contract. The next meals were the same issues. I was a presenter for our group. I need to eat and don't have the luxury that others have. The staff just could not get it. They offered to get me something else but told me that i must pay for it. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet and they told me the sauce had flour in it. I told them to forget it and decided to eat snacks. One hour later while i was presenting they brought me an omelette. FRUSTRATING. They expect me to pay for it. They charge US prices, but give below Guatemala service (which by the way is very good for a fraction of the price in the US). Every other place i have visited has bent over backwards to accomodate us. They did nothing here. I come in annually with a group and will visit Lake Atitlan each year. This will be our last time at the Riviera. Other things to note: hotel is poorly laid out, rooms are good by Guate standards, but 2-3 the cost of other companies rooms. They should not advertise wifi. It works very sporadically and only in the lobby. Everyone had difficulty connecting. …
Great view to the lake Atitlán , nice and clean rooms with nice staff from the from desk to restaurant everybody has nice and helping to make our stay confortable Has a lake deck with small beach area , also is near Panajachel minutes ride in a Turk Tuk , I do recommend this highly
