We stayed here when visiting my friends sister who lives in Xela. Xela in general is pretty sleepy and the hostel definitely reflects that but it's very relaxing. The cafe has great food and is a cozy place for a coffee and a book. The rooms are comfortable, no hot water though!

This is a lovely cheap hostel located very close to the central plaza and all its facilities. The staff are so sweet and kind and will do whatever they can to meet your needs such as an extra blanket on a cold evening or some extra thick towels for your shower. It is attached to a small restaurant which serves...

Loved the friendly staff! The food in their little restaurant is great and the breakfast is the best included meal i've ever had in a hostal! Rooms are a bit cramped but the beds are fine. Showers a clean and there are plenty. It's close to pretty much anything in the centre of Xela!

This hostel is ol, but nothing special. I stayed in a private room whoch i found a bit overpriced. The walls are super thin, so you here literally everything. My room was right over the reception-/restaurant area, so i could hear the music and talking all evening. They shut it down at a reasonable hour though. It's a clean hostel,...

The place is very clean and well maintained. We were just passing through for a few nights and stayed in the dorm. Basic hostel, however no kitchen. If you want breakfast before 8, then they just make you a sandwich to take with you in he morning. The staff was helfpful. The central areas are a bit small, but it...

While the place is super clean, and in a beautiful old building near to downtown the thin wooden walls mean you can hear every word people are saying in each room and EVERY morning we were woken up early with cell phone alarms going off and then chairs scraping around in the bar/kitchen below. Which seems always to be playing...

I stayed in the Black Cat hostal before and after I completed the hike up Volcan Tajamulco. (Highest peak in central America). The hostal was in a good location and was close to cheap restaurants. Included in the price is also a breakfast (make sure you get the big burrito). There is a very small area in the middle to...

Right in the center in walking distance to shops, restaurants and major sights. Breakfast is delicious and free! All rooms (incl. blathroom) are clean. Beds are comfy and warm during the cold nights. Staff is friendly and helpful; also with tours. Lockers in the room and the guests are counted every evening by name. Wifi is fast and stable. I...

The hostel was really friendly and helped me with all the things that I wanted to do around Xela. I did a hike leaving at midnight and the hostel let me keep all my stuff there for 5Q and let me sleep in the common room until I left. The breakfasts are amazing and really good portions and they are...

After the first night I thought that there must be better and went and checked out some other places. Black cat was by far the nicest. Clean dorm, comfortable beds. Breakfast is awesome and makes this place worth while - you choose any breakfast on the cafe menu. I was leaving for a hike on my late day so didn't...
