Spent one night after visiting Copan and arrived during rainy period and had to walk to hotel since our bus could not navigate the narrow streets. Is close to town square but due to rain was not able to enjoy the town and we arrived late afternoon and it was getting dark. My room was on 3rd floor and hard to find as there are many twists and turns but it was comfortable and clean. We arrived in time for Super Bowl and bar had the game for us and restaurant served very good food. I was satisfied but am positive if it had not been raining and had more time to relax and enjoy the town and hotel I would have a better feel. Would not hesitate to stay here as they have no control of the weather. Hotel is authentic and fits with Copan.
We were booked here for 3 nights by our tour company - MC tours and it was fabulous. The small hotel was 1/2 block from the central square in the cute small town and within walking distance (3/4 kilometer) of the impressive excavation of the large Maya city. The room was large and comfortable with the best shampoo ever and had a patio looking on a secluded garden. There was a decent breakfast, but the dining room excelled at dinner with huge delicious offerings. We sat outside the dining room overlooking the beautiful pool when having dinner or drinks.
I stayed at the Hotel Marina Copán for my forth time in April, 2021. The rooms are excellent and the hotel staff are friendly. I looked forward to the breakfast buffet each morning and enjoyed stopping in for a drink at the bar in the evening. This hotel is conveniently located just a half block from the town square. It's just a short walk to an ATM, coffee shop, pharmacy museums, souvenir shops and more.
A colonial style house that is actually a big hotel, this has always been the go-to hotel in Copan Ruinas. I came here 25 years ago for the first time, then 10 years later, and now again this year. I always recalled this place was special but now it is my favorite hotel in all Honduras. The rooms are ample, clean, comfortable beds (only “down” points is the pillows). Of all the restaurants I visited in Copan, the food was far superior here at the hotel. I do not see it rated as restaurant but it should be. The breakfast buffet is top. Worth the price if included in package. The blue cheese bacon hamburger is excellent ( one of the best ive had anywhere and im a hamburger lover). The welcome cocktail I recommend is the mojito. Delicious. Again one of the best ive had even compared to the ones in Cuba. Although it is I believe the most expensive hotel in Copan, for $150 (average) it is very well worth the price. Staff is friendly, professional, and courteous. Very well located (5 minute drive to ruins, next to central park, restaurants, bars walking distance). Will come back again one day for sure.…
Gorgeous accommodations right in the middle of town. Great for s honeymoon, families, or friends. My fellow traveler were booked here as a part of a tour to visit Copan Ruinas and had no idea how great this place would be. Stunningly gorgeous, very clean, and great food!
Came back to the Marina Copan. This was our 3rd stay now and although things were very quiet/slow because of COVID, the stay was wonderful. In summary: We will definitely continue using Marina Copan as a key hotel for our stays. Highlights: - Breakfast was amazing. As a Honduran I can say their Honduran breakfast is solid. With fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, and some of the best coffee. - The grounds: Impeccable, beautiful and clean. Really well kept. Keep it up - Service: amazing! Everyone from the team at the lobby, the restaurant and even Don Eduardo in the parking. Great service focusing on customer service. Some opportunities: - Continue improving the wifi speed. I was there on business/touring and although it met the need, it was a bit slow. But overall I got things done. Overall: Excellent service with a beautiful hotel that will make you want to stay longer. You won’t be disappointed.…
Upon reserving, I specifically asked about dining to confirm the situation that I thought may have changed due the epidemic. Contrary to the information on Hotel Marina, much to my surprise and disappointment the restaurant is not open. It was not until we wanted to dine at 6:30 in the evening that we were informed that their dining options were unavailable at that hour. WHAT??!! Once again, this morning, much to my chagrín, I learned that no food service nor coffee was available until 8:00 a.m. After many stays, for the first time, I was told that I must pay upfront. Now I understand why. The hotel has the responsibility to accurately portray what it offers. It is fraudulent to present, as is falsely presented on the website, services that are unavailable.
It is located in the city center near the ruins, it was very nice to walk along the quiet streets, the residents are very friendly, very similar to provincial Spain. The hotel area is all in colors, in the corridors are old musical instruments. The furniture in the rooms is also antique. Very nice restaurant with good food. Here we could stay for a few more days ... but we need to go to the next ruins.
Great hotel with pool , gym, sauna and an excellent masseuse. Located steps from the village square, with an excellent restaurant. Loved it. would have stayed longer, but my schedule would not allow it.
We spent there 2 nights and were very happy with the hotel. Service is very good, all our questions have been answered, the room was very large with a small balcony and a panoramic window overlooking the city (premium room). We used the complementary breakfast and also had dinner 2 times in the quiet hotel garden. The food was excellent on both occasions. The room was clean, well maintained and decorated nicely. I strongly recommend to stay there when visiting Copan. To the Copan ruins it is a 5 minutes drive or half an hour walk. The plaza del armas (center) is around the corner. You can explore the city by walking around, all is save, people are very friendly, especially if you can speak (at least some) Spanish.
