I spent a weekend at Hacienda San Lucas and it was not enough time! The grounds are absolutely stunning, the food was delicious, and the staff was so friendly and attentive. The town of Copan Ruinas is also really charming, and there are so many activities to do in the area. Both the town and Hacienda San Lucas are worth... More

My husband & I really enjoyed this place & the food! Great hospitality overall & cool area to practice yoga/meditate. A little further from the main town making this place a secluded romantic getaway.

Hacienda San Lucas is simply, gorgeous; elegant in its simplicity yet in every corner you can feel how that every detail is part of an orchestrated masterpiece. The grounds are gorgeous, the old hacienda house is as it should be, the rooms are fantastic, the food incredible. The feeling of being in your own paradise and yet having Copan ruins... More

Our group of 30 cannot say enough about our evening at Hacienda San Lucas. The property is magical at night with a breathtaking view over the valley while the sun is setting. After a gruesome trip from Guatemala city by car which took 6 hours to travel 239 kilometers Hacienda San Lucas appeared as a long awaited saviour. Only eight rooms all with two queen size beds. We stayed for 3 nights at the Hacienda, and loved it, we wished we had stayed longer. What impressed us the most was how eager to help the staff was - with everything, organizing our day, making sure we had appropriate guides and transportation, preparing a special soup dinner for an upset stomach, waiting for us with a late breakfast... This is a lovely resort but has a really bumpy drive up to it which takes about 15 minutes each way into town. Birding is good and the setting is lovely--we (there were four of us) brought our own wine to have in our room for the three nights we were there--we also bought wine at dinner from the Hacienda... We stayed for three nights including Christmas Day. Arriving inauspiciously late, due to the horrendous traffic conditions travelling from Puerto Barrios in Guatemala to Copán, we were greeted warmly and efficiently in a courtyard filled with burning candles...very pretty. Dinner featured the use of local recipes and garden herbs - it was delicious. Upon hearing that we were doing the... More

“The two original rooms, Corral and Coccina, are located closest to the main house and dinning room. This is good for someone who has trouble with stairs. Full strength wifi. The other six rooms are nestled up into the mountainside and provide additional privacy. Medium to no strength wifi based on the proximity to the main building that has the router.”
