This hostel provided excellent service from start to finish. From when I first confirmed our reservation, I was in regular contact with Rocky to keep him updated with our travel plans. He always responded straight away. He was waiting for us at the bus station when we arrived (even though the bus was an hour late). Rocky arranged our transfer...

We arrived in Puerto Cortes by ferry from Belize City with one hour delay and took a bus to San Pedro Sula ("directo", 52 lempiras) which was late, too. Finally we arrived with more then one hour delay but couldnt call the driver again. He was waiting anyway at the bus terminal and we were really happy to see him...

As an Asian (everyone stares at you as if you're an attraction) and non-Spanish speaker, getting around San Pedro Sula can be rather daunting. The kind folks at The Guaras Hostal made getting to their place hassle free by offering a free pick up service from the bus terminal. Seeing them waiting there as my bus pulled in after dark...

We were trans transiting Honduras as quickly as possible on our way from Guatemala to Nicaragua. The owner was waiting for us at the bus station, helped to buy an onward ticket and brought us safe to his guesthouse (which is also his private house) in a gated area. Since there was no dinner offered at the hostel, the owner...

This is actually a homestay rather than a hostel, located at the northeast portion of the city at a gated block (yes, it does have a guard at the entrance at all times and seem indeed safe enough). Rooms are not very well lit, have glowing stars at the ceiling and girly paintings at the wall (clearley, a child's bedroom)....

5 star service. We rang right before getting on a bus from la ceiba to san pedro sula and rocky said he would be waiting for us. On arrival he was patiently waiting (bus was late) and we were driven to a late night place to get bus tickets for the next morning and taken to get some dinner as...

San Pedro is often a necessary transit point for people travelling through Latin America. Every time I've travelled through I've stayed at Las Guaras, simply because it provides everything you need, at a very reasonable price: Rocky will arrange for a uniformed driver to pick you up from the bus station or airport, and will arrange transfers to your next...

A little off on Google maps but its very close and worth it! in a gated area safe and secure. the family owned place is full of love and a free shuttle is a part of it. The guy and his wife went out of their way for us.

I was travelling from Managua to Puerto Cortes, and had to stay in San Pedro Sula overnight. I was picked up from the SPS bus terminal promptly and dropped off at the bus terminal the next morning. Rocky and his family are great hosts and very accommodating. Their house is not too far from the bus terminal and is in...
